Conservative Political Views

Forget about the media. No amount of shaming will ever convince those moral illiterates to tell the full and complete story of Fast and Furious. If you think Brian Williams and those who staff every other newsroom in this country went to journalism school to hold power accountable and inform the public, think again. They entered media for one purpose and one purpose only: to defeat the right and to further the leftist cause.

In other words, to hell with a few hundred dead Mexican innocents and two American law enforcement officers — we have an(sic) reelection to win!  But it’s not 2008 anymore, and while New Media has done an incredible job keeping the fires of this scandal burning, we can’t reach everyone. As big as Fox News, talk radio, Twitter, and the Web is — we just can’t.  Which is why God created ‘Citizens United.’

Thanks to the Supreme Court doing something that could only offend the media — you know, upholding the First Amendment — instead of wasting our energies pushing the corrupt media to be less corrupt, we can now be a little more pro-active.  Someone with a lot of money and media savvy needs to start a Fast and Furious super PAC that through a series of ads will tell the full and complete story of Fast and Furious — from Obama’s cynical gun control agenda behind it, to the loss of innocent life, to the White House cover up.  All you need are facts.  No spin, no politics.  Like the Swiftboat Veterans for Truth who told the story of John Kerry the media wouldn’t, our Fast and Furious super PAC need only tell the truth.

Smart people I respect will disagree and claim this would be a distraction from the economy, but I beg to differ.  Certainly, Mr. Romney needs to stay focused on the economy.  But with the emerging power of New Media and a First Amendment that is now somewhat equalized against the left’s historic advantage with union money and those pro-Obama super PACs that disguise themselves as mainstream media outlets — patriots now have the same free speech rights the mainstream media enjoys when it comes to spending unlimited amounts of money to elect a candidate.

Obama’s Media Palace Guards are intentionally covering Fast and Furious up.  Instead of fuming, let’s just go around them.  I know I’d contribute.  Anyone else?

Though the 2-to-1 margin is higher than I expected, there was little doubt President Obama’s decision to invoke executive privilege to prevent the release of documents that might shed some light in the Fast and Furious scandal was a bad political move.  Voters Disapprove of Obama Blocking Release of Fast & Furious Docs

This is what makes the President’s decision so troubling.

What’s in those documents that makes paying the political price worth it?

Because our media has protected Obama by refusing to cover Fast and Furious, voters aren’t anywhere near as educated on the story as they were, say, the nothingburger that was Valerie Plame. But for decades, executive privilege has been synonymous with Watergate and cover ups.

From the looks of this poll released today, it still is:

The Hill Poll found that likely voters disapproved by an almost 2-to-1 margin of Obama’s assertion of presidential power in the case. Overall, 56 percent of voters disapproved of his action, while only 29 percent approved. …

Sixty-one percent of independents said they disapproved of the president’s actions, and just 25 percent approved. Among Republicans, opposition to the president’s use of executive privilege was more entrenched at 78 percent.

Even 28 percent of Democrats, and 30 percent of self-identified liberals disapproved of Obama’s position.

After the President invoked executive privilege, the media was forced to cover a story it had strenuously covered up for a year. In response, the media attempted to paint the President’s move as a fight against a renegade Republican Congress playing political games during an election year. Not only does this poll prove that tactic failed, my guess is that these numbers will get worse as people start to ask, “What the heck is Fast and Furious?”

Our government flooding thousands of guns into Mexico, a few hundred dead innocent Mexicans and two dead American law enforcement officers later — the President is only going to find himself in more trouble.

Contrary to White House Press Secretary Jay Carney’s absurd statement that the President’s first ever use of executive privilege was a “principled” move meant to protect the need for an administration to know its policy conversations will remain private (a perfectly valid use of executive privilege), no one believes that’s the case here. Or if they do, they wonder what in the world needs to be protected about a failed policy. Even so, executive privilege is only considered a truly valid move when it comes to national security issues.

What’s especially troubling, though, is that the use of executive privilege in the case of Fast and Furious opens up a new line of questioning about how much Obama knew about a scandal that the White House claims it was unaware of until hearing about it on the news.

Over the weekend, I suggested that a super PAC needs to be started if we’re ever going to get all the facts out to the public. Like the Swiftboat Veterans for Truth 2004 ad campaign, we need to go around the media in order to report truths the media will never tell. Most importantly, we need to let voters know that the most likely and logical motive behind this indefensible gunrunning operation was the Obama Administration’s desire to cause chaos in order to push gun control.

This poll shows the people are ready to listen.

The Origins of Political Correctness
Bill Lind, February 5, 2000
An Accuracy in Academia Address by Bill Lind
Variations of this speech have been delivered to various AIA conferences including the 2000 Consevative(sic) University at American University

Where does all this stuff that you’ve heard about this morning – the victim feminism, the gay rights movement, the invented statistics, the rewritten history, the lies, the demands, all the rest of it – where does it come from? For the first time in our history, Americans have to be fearful of what they say, of what they write, and of what they think. They have to be afraid of using the wrong word, a word denounced as offensive or insensitive, or racist, sexist, or homophobic.

We have seen other countries, particularly in this century, where this has been the case. And we have always regarded them with a mixture of pity, and to be truthful, some amusement, because it has struck us as so strange that people would allow a situation to develop where they would be afraid of what words they used. But we now have this situation in this country. We have it primarily on college campuses, but it is spreading throughout the whole society. Were does it come from? What is it?

We call it “Political Correctness.” The name originated as something of a joke, literally in a comic strip, and we tend still to think of it as only half-serious. In fact, it’s deadly serious. It is the great disease of our century, the disease that has left tens of millions of people dead in Europe, in Russia, in China, indeed around the world. It is the disease of ideology. PC is not funny. PC is deadly serious.

If we look at it analytically, if we look at it historically, we quickly find out exactly what it is. Political Correctness is cultural Marxism. It is Marxism translated from economic into cultural terms. It is an effort that goes back not to the 1960s and the hippies and the peace movement, but back to World War I. If we compare the basic tenets of Political Correctness with classical Marxism the parallels are very obvious.

First of all, both are totalitarian ideologies. The totalitarian nature of Political Correctness is revealed nowhere more clearly than on college campuses, many of which at this point are small ivy covered North Koreas, where the student or faculty member who dares to cross any of the lines set up by the gender feminist or the homosexual-rights activists, or the local black or Hispanic group, or any of the other sainted “victims” groups that PC revolves around, quickly find themselves in judicial trouble. Within the small legal system of the college, they face formal charges – some star-chamber proceeding – and punishment. That is a little look into the future that Political Correctness intends for the nation as a whole.

Indeed, all ideologies are totalitarian because the essence of an ideology (I would note that conservatism correctly understood is not an ideology) is to take some philosophy and say on the basis of this philosophy certain things must be true – such as the whole of the history of our culture is the history of the oppression of women. Since reality contradicts that, reality must be forbidden. It must become forbidden to acknowledge the reality of our history. People must be forced to live a lie, and since people are naturally reluctant to live a lie, they naturally use their ears and eyes to look out and say, “Wait a minute. This isn’t true. I can see it isn’t true,” the power of the state must be put behind the demand to live a lie. That is why ideology invariably creates a totalitarian state.

Second, the cultural Marxism of Political Correctness, like economic Marxism, has a single factor explanation of history. Economic Marxism says that all of history is determined by ownership of means of production. Cultural Marxism, or Political Correctness, says that all history is determined by power, by which groups defined in terms of race, sex, etc., have power over which other groups. Nothing else matters. All literature, indeed, is about that. Everything in the past is about that one thing.

Third, just as in classical economic Marxism certain groups, i.e. workers and peasants, are a priori good, and other groups, i.e., the bourgeoisie and capital owners, are evil. In the cultural Marxism of Political Correctness certain groups are good – feminist women, (only feminist women, non-feminist women are deemed not to exist) blacks, Hispanics, homosexuals. These groups are determined to be “victims,” and therefore automatically good regardless of what any of them do. Similarly, white males are determined automatically to be evil, thereby becoming the equivalent of the bourgeoisie in economic Marxism.

Fourth, both economic and cultural Marxism rely on expropriation. When the classical Marxists, the communists, took over a country like Russia, they expropriated the bourgeoisie(sic), they took away their property. Similarly, when the cultural Marxists take over a university campus, they expropriate through things like quotas for admissions. When a white student with superior qualifications is denied admittance to a college in favor of a black or Hispanic who isn’t as well qualified, the white student is expropriated. And indeed, affirmative action, in our whole society today, is a system of expropriation. White owned companies don’t get a contract because the contract is reserved for a company owned by, say, Hispanics or women. So expropriation is a principle tool for both forms of Marxism.

And finally, both have a method of analysis that automatically gives the answers they want. For the classical Marxist, it’s Marxist economics. For the cultural Marxist, it’s deconstruction. Deconstruction essentially takes any text, removes all meaning from it and re-inserts any meaning desired. So we find, for example, that all of Shakespeare is about the suppression of women, or the Bible is really about race and gender. All of these texts simply become grist for the mill, which proves that “all history is about which groups have power over which other groups.” So the parallels are very evident between the classical Marxism that we’re familiar with in the old Soviet Union and the cultural Marxism that we see today as Political Correctness.

But the parallels are not accidents. The parallels did not come from nothing. The fact of the matter is that Political Correctness has a history, a history that is much longer than many people are aware of outside a small group of academics who have studied this. And the history goes back, as I said, to World War I, as do so many of the pathologies that are today bringing our society, and indeed our culture, down.

Marxist theory said that when the general European war came (as it did come in Europe in 1914), the working class throughout Europe would rise up and overthrow their governments – the bourgeois governments – because the workers had more in common with each other across the national boundaries than they had in common with the bourgeoisie and the ruling class in their own country. Well, 1914 came and it didn’t happen. Throughout Europe, workers rallied to their flag and happily marched off to fight each other. The Kaiser shook hands with the leaders of the Marxist Social Democratic Party in Germany and said there are no parties now, there are only Germans. And this happened in every country in Europe. So something was wrong.

Marxists knew by definition it couldn’t be the theory. In 1917, they finally got a Marxist coup in Russia and it looked like the theory was working, but it stalled again. It didn’t spread and when attempts were made to spread immediately after the war, with the Spartacist uprising in Berlin, with the Bela Kun government in Hungary, with the Munich Soviet, the workers didn’t support them.

So the Marxists’ had a problem. And two Marxist theorists went to work on it: Antonio Gramsci in Italy and Georg Lukacs in Hungary. Gramsci said the workers will never see their true class interests, as defined by Marxism, until they are freed from Western culture, and particularly from the Christian religion – that they are blinded by culture and religion to their true class interests. Lukacs, who was considered the most brilliant Marxist theorist since Marx himself, said in 1919, “Who will save us from Western Civilization?” He also theorized that the great obstacle to the creation of a Marxist paradise was the culture: Western civilization itself.

Lukacs gets a chance to put his ideas into practice, because when the home grown Bolshevik Bela Kun government is established in Hungary in 1919, he becomes deputy commissar for culture, and the first thing he did was introduce sex education into the Hungarian schools. This ensured that the workers would not support the Bela Kun government, because the Hungarian people looked at this aghast, workers as well as everyone else. But he had already made the connection that today many of us are still surprised by, that we would consider the “latest thing.”

In 1923 in Germany, a think-tank is established that takes on the role of translating Marxism from economic into cultural terms, that creates Political Correctness as we know it today, and essentially it has created the basis for it by the end of the 1930s. This comes about because the very wealthy young son of a millionaire German trader by the name of Felix Weil has become a Marxist and has lots of money to spend. He is disturbed by the divisions among the Marxists, so he sponsors something called the First Marxist Work Week, where he brings Lukacs and many of the key German thinkers together for a week, working on the differences of Marxism.

And he says, “What we need is a think-tank.” Washington is full of think tanks and we think of them as very modern. In fact they go back quite a ways. He endows an institute, associated with Frankfurt University, established in 1923, that was originally supposed to be known as the Institute for Marxism. But the people behind it decided at the beginning that it was not to their advantage to be openly identified as Marxist. The last thing Political Correctness wants is for people to figure out it’s a form of Marxism. So instead they decide to name it the Institute for Social Research.

Weil is very clear about his goals. In 1971, he wrote to Martin Jay the author of a principle book on the Frankfurt School, as the Institute for Social Research soon becomes known informally, and he said, “I wanted the institute to become known, perhaps famous, due to its contributions to Marxism.” Well, he was successful. The first director of the Institute, Carl Grunberg, an Austrian economist, concluded his opening address, according to Martin Jay, “by clearly stating his personal allegiance to Marxism as a scientific methodology.” Marxism, he said, would be the ruling principle at the Institute, and that never changed.

The initial work at the Institute was rather conventional, but in 1930 it acquired a new director named Max Horkheimer, and Horkheimer’s views were very different. He was very much a Marxist renegade. The people who create and form the Frankfurt School are renegade Marxists. They’re still very much Marxist in their thinking, but they’re effectively run out of the party. Moscow looks at what they are doing and says, “Hey, this isn’t us, and we’re not going to bless this.”

Horkheimer’s initial heresy is that he is very interested in Freud, and the key to making the translation of Marxism from economic into cultural terms is essentially that he combined it with Freudism. Again, Martin Jay writes, “If it can be said that in the early years of its history, the Institute concerned itself primarily with an analysis of bourgeois society’s socio-economic sub-structure,” – and I point out that Jay is very sympathetic to the Frankfurt School, I’m not reading from a critic here – “in the years after 1930 its primary interests lay in its cultural superstructure. Indeed the traditional Marxist formula regarding the relationship between the two was brought into question by Critical Theory.”

The stuff we’ve been hearing about this morning – the radical feminism, the women’s studies departments, the gay studies departments, the black studies departments – all these things are branches of Critical Theory. What the Frankfurt School essentially does is draw on both Marx and Freud in the 1930s to create this theory called Critical Theory. The term is ingenious because you’re tempted to ask, “What is the theory?” The theory is to criticize. The theory is that the way to bring down Western culture and the capitalist order is not to lay down an alternative. They explicitly refuse to do that. They say it can’t be done, that we can’t imagine what a free society would look like (their definition of a free society). As long as we’re living under repression – the repression of a capitalistic economic order which creates (in their theory) the Freudian condition, the conditions that Freud describes in individuals of repression – we can’t even imagine it. What Critical Theory is about is simply criticizing. It calls for the most destructive criticism possible, in every possible way, designed to bring the current order down. And, of course, when we hear from the feminists that the whole of society is just out to get women and so on, that kind of criticism is a derivative of Critical Theory. It is all coming from the 1930s, not the 1960s.

Other key members who join up around this time are Theodore Adorno, and, most importantly, Erich Fromm and Herbert Marcuse. Fromm and Marcuse introduce an element which is central to Political Correctness, and that’s the sexual element. And particularly Marcuse, who in his own writings calls for a society of “polymorphous perversity,” that is his definition of the future of the world that they want to create. Marcuse in particular by the 1930s is writing some very extreme stuff on the need for sexual liberation, but this runs through the whole Institute. So do most of the themes we see in Political Correctness, again in the early 30s. In Fromm’s view, masculinity and femininity were not reflections of ‘essential’ sexual differences, as the Romantics had thought. They were derived instead from differences in life functions, which were in part socially determined.” Sex is a construct; sexual differences are a construct.

Another example is the emphasis we now see on environmentalism. “Materialism as far back as Hobbes had led to a manipulative dominating attitude toward nature.” That was Horkhemier writing in 1933 in Materialismus und Moral. “The theme of man’s domination of nature,” according to Jay, ” was to become a central concern of the Frankfurt School in subsequent years.” “Horkheimer’s antagonism to the fetishization of labor, (here’s were they’re obviously departing from Marxist orthodoxy) expressed another dimension of his materialism, the demand for human, sensual happiness.” In one of his most trenchant essays, Egoism and the Movement for Emancipation, written in 1936, Horkeimer “discussed the hostility to personal gratification inherent in bourgeois culture.” And he specifically referred to the Marquis de Sade, favorably, for his “protest…against asceticism in the name of a higher morality.”

How does all of this stuff flood in here? How does it flood into our universities, and indeed into our lives today? The members of the Frankfurt School are Marxist, they are also, to a man, Jewish. In 1933 the Nazis came to power in Germany, and not surprisingly they shut down the Institute for Social Research. And its members fled. They fled to New York City, and the Institute was reestablished there in 1933 with help from Columbia University. And the members of the Institute, gradually through the 1930s, though many of them remained writing in German, shift their focus from Critical Theory about German society, destructive criticism about every aspect of that society, to Critical Theory directed toward American society. There is another very important transition when the war comes. Some of them go to work for the government, including Herbert Marcuse, who became a key figure in the OSS (the predecessor to the CIA), and some, including Horkheimer and Adorno, move to Hollywood.

These origins of Political Correctness would probably not mean too much to us today except for two subsequent events. The first was the student rebellion in the mid-1960s, which was driven largely by resistance to the draft and the Vietnam War. But the student rebels needed theory of some sort. They couldn’t just get out there and say, “Hell no we won’t go,” they had to have some theoretical explanation behind it. Very few of them were interested in wading through Das Kapital. Classical, economic Marxism is not light, and most of the radicals of the 60s were not deep. Fortunately for them, and unfortunately for our country today, and not just in the university, Herbert Marcuse remained in America when the Frankfurt School relocated back to Frankfurt after the war. And whereas Mr. Adorno in Germany is appalled by the student rebellion when it breaks out there – when the student rebels come into Adorno’s classroom, he calls the police and has them arrested – Herbert Marcuse, who remained here, saw the 60s student rebellion as the great chance. He saw the opportunity to take the work of the Frankfurt School and make it the theory of the New Left in the United States.

One of Marcuse’s books was the key book. It virtually became the bible of the SDS and the student rebels of the 60s. That book was Eros and Civilization. Marcuse argues that under a capitalistic order (he downplays the Marxism very strongly here, it is subtitled, A Philosophical Inquiry into Freud, but the framework is Marxist), repression is the essence of that order and that gives us the person Freud describes – the person with all the hang-ups, the neuroses, because his sexual instincts are repressed. We can envision a future, if we can only destroy this existing oppressive order, in which we liberate eros, we liberate libido, in which we have a world of “polymorphous perversity,” in which you can “do you own thing.” And by the way, in that world there will no longer be work, only play. What a wonderful message for the radicals of the mid-60s! They’re students, they’re baby-boomers, and they’ve grown up never having to worry about anything except eventually having to get a job. And here is a guy writing in a way they can easily follow. He doesn’t require them to read a lot of heavy Marxism and tells them everything they want to hear which is essentially, “Do your own thing,” “If it feels good do it,” and “You never have to go to work.” By the way, Marcuse is also the man who creates the phrase, “Make love, not war.” Coming back to the situation people face on campus, Marcuse defines “liberating tolerance” as intolerance for anything coming from the Right and tolerance for anything coming from the Left. Marcuse joined the Frankfurt School, in 1932 (if I remember right). So, all of this goes back to the 1930s.

In conclusion, America today is in the throws of the greatest and direst transformation in its history. We are becoming an ideological state, a country with an official state ideology enforced by the power of the state. In “hate crimes” we now have people serving jail sentences for political thoughts. And the Congress is now moving to expand that category ever further. Affirmative action is part of it. The terror against anyone who dissents from Political Correctness on campus is part of it. It’s exactly what we have seen happen in Russia, in Germany, in Italy, in China, and now it’s coming here. And we don’t recognize it because we call it Political Correctness and laugh it off. My message today is that it’s not funny, it’s here, it’s growing and it will eventually destroy, as it seeks to destroy, everything that we have ever defined as our freedom and our country.

Eric Holder’s Democrat-liberal, defenders lie when they claim that contempt of Congress charges are unprecedented for one in his position–blatantly untrue!  Holder will be the third Attorney General to be charged, if, in fact, he is.  Both parties, Republican and Democrat, go to appalling extremes to defend one of their own and their respective ideologies.

“The Watergate scandal was a political scandal that occurred in the United States in the 1970s as a result of the June 1972 break-in at the Democratic National Committee headquarters at the Watergate office complex in Washington, D.C., and the Nixon administration’s attempted cover-up of its involvement. The scandal eventually led to the resignation of Richard Nixon, the President of the United States, on August 9, 1974, the only resignation of a U.S. President. The scandal also resulted in the indictment, trial, conviction and incarceration of 43 people, including dozens of top Nixon administration officials.

The affair began with the arrest of five men for breaking and entering into the Democratic National Committee (DNC) headquarters at the Watergate complex on June 17, 1972. The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) connected cash found on the burglars to a slush fund used by the Committee for the Re-Election of the President, a fundraising group for the Nixon campaign.[1][2] In July 1973, as evidence mounted against the president’s staff, including testimony provided by former staff members in an investigation conducted by the Senate Watergate Committee, it was revealed that President Nixon had a tape-recording system in his offices and he had recorded many conversations.[3][4] Recordings from these tapes implicated the president, revealing he had attempted to cover up the break-in.[2][5] After a protracted series of bitter court battles, the U.S. Supreme Court ruled that the president had to hand over the tapes to government investigators; he ultimately complied.

Facing near-certain impeachment in the House of Representatives and a strong possibility of a conviction in the Senate, Nixon resigned the presidency on August 9, 1974.[6][7] His successor, Gerald Ford, then issued a pardon to Nixon.”   (Copy and paste the following link)

This scandal involving the Richard I-am-not-a-crook Nixon, Administration was covered extensively by the media, which today, and up to this point, not made mention of the latest Obama scandal, “Fast and Furious.”  Back then it was the Republican party which told the outlandish lies and tried everything to cover it up!  It wasn’t right then, and it’s not right now, so, why is the main stream media virtually ignoring this?  Where is the obvious bias coming from?  I realize that conservatives proclaim that the media is silent on a myriad of issues is because of their left-wing, liberal, and progressive point of view.  I take a different view.  When I consider what the President and his mob of thugs had to do in order to push Obamacare through, it makes a lot of sense that the same tactics were used to silence this modern-day, media.  The healthcare bill was passed but was not understood, nor was it read by those who voted for it.  Nancy Pelosi told us with a smirk on her face, “We have to pass it to find out what’s in it.”  That statement was so unfathomable and un-American that an investigation should have begun immediately.  However, the House had a Democrat majority, and the Senate, and the Constitutional checks and balances went by the wayside.  There was a time, in this country, that news was told without regard for political-party, needs and coverups.  Americans took it for granted that if it happened, it was exposed by the media.  We can no longer believe that.  Government was set up with many checks and balances so that regime takeovers could not happen, like what is playing out today.  The founding fathers knew about human nature and dealt with every aspect of mans’ dark side in our US Constitution.  However, this President has no regard for checks and balances, and the Constitution he swore to uphold.  Now, if Congress doesn’t do as he demands, he circumvents Congress.  I wasn’t alive during the Roosevelt and Wilson eras, so I can’t speak to either of those, but I have witnessed Administrations, as an adult, since the days of JFK.  I can say, without hesitation, that the Obama Administration is the most foul and corrupt I have ever seen ruling this so-called, free country!  World War I was fought so that there would never be another.  WWII followed shortly after, and it seemed to me that we had a war every twenty years, until now, where we are sending men and women soldiers to fight all over the world.  We are never told what the actual reasons are.  We are given one lie after another to justify the deaths of our young men and women.  Impeachment for the entire Administration is in order; but that’s

Just Me

The socialist-leaning New Party required that 40 percent of its own leadership groups must consist of “people of color,” according to correspondence uncovered by WND from an early New Party leader.

The New Party was a 1990s party that sought to elect members to public office with the aim of moving the Democratic Party far leftward to ultimately form a new political party with a socialist agenda.

In 2008, Barack Obama’s campaign denied the president was ever a member amid reports, including from WND, citing the New Party’s own literature listing Obama as a member. Information uncovered in recent weeks, including Obama’s signed contract with the New Party, further establishes the president’s membership with the controversial organization.

Manning Marable, a socialist Columbia University professor listed as a New Party builder, boasted in 1996 that the party had a ruling requiring a racial quota for the party.

WND unearthed a 1996 essay by Marable from the Westview Press titled “Speaking Truth to Power: Essays on Race, Resistance, and Radicalism.”

“Fortunately, some leftists are trying to learn from the errors of the past. A majority of the national executive of the Committees of Correspondence consists of people of color,” Marable writes.

“The New Party, which has initiated organizing efforts in nearly 20 states, has a rule insisting that 40 percent of all leadership groups be people of color,” he said.

As WND reported last week, a July 20, 1992, article in The Nation magazine by New Party founder Joel Rogers laid out the case for the establishment of the party and listed several of the group’s early founders and activists, including Marable.

Marable was also listed as a New Party leader in the group’s own newsletter, the New Party News.

Socialist goals

The New Party, established in 1992, took advantage of what was known as electoral “fusion,” which enabled candidates to run on two tickets simultaneously, attracting voters from both parties. But the New Party disbanded in 1998, one year after fusion was halted by the Supreme Court.

ACORN and the SEIU union formed the backbone alliance of the New Party.

The socialist-oriented goals of the New Party were enumerated on its old website.

Among the New Party’s stated objectives were “full employment, a shorter work week and a guaranteed minimum income for all adults; a universal ‘social wage’ to include such basic benefits as health care, child care, vacation time and lifelong access to education and training; a systematic phase-in of comparable worth; and like programs to ensure gender equity.”

The New Party stated it also sought “the democratization of our banking and financial system – including popular election of those charged with public stewardship of our banking system, worker-owner control over their pension assets [and] community-controlled alternative financial institutions.”

Many of the New Party’s founding members were Democratic Socialists of America leaders and members of Committees of Correspondence, a breakaway of the Communist Party USA.

Last month, WND reported on a 1996 print advertisement in a local Chicago newspaper that shows Obama was the speaker at an event sponsored and presented by the Democratic Socialists of America, the DSA.

WND first reported on the event in 2010.

Obama listed as New Party member

In 2009, WND reported on newspaper evidence from the New Party’s own literature listing several new members of the New Party, including Obama.

Last week, Stanley Kurtz, writing at National Review Online, reported Obama signed a “contract” promising to publicly support and associate himself with the New Party while in office.

In 2008, Obama’s Fight the Smears campaign website quoted Carol Harwell, who managed Obama’s 1996 campaign for the Illinois Senate, as stating: “Barack did not solicit or seek the New Party endorsement for state senator in 1995.”

Fight the Smears conceded the New Party did support Obama in 1996 but denied that Obama had ever joined.

Spending Off the Hook: Free Phones Costing Taxpayers $2.1 Billion Per Year

You’re probably familiar with the food stamp program which grew from $35 billion in 2008 to $75 billion last year. But did you know that getting food stamps also makes you eligible for a free government cell phone?

A program called Lifeline provides free phones and free monthly minutes to anyone on food stamps, WIC, Medicaid, Head Start, and several other government programs. And just like food stamps, Lifeline (aka “phone stamps”) has been growing by leaps and bounds since 2008, at significant cost to taxpayers.

Lifeline was started in the mid-’80s to reduce the cost of phone service to rural and needy customers. The program’s costs are covered by a tax included on every monthly phone bill called the Universal Service Charge. The program eventually grew to include discounted cell service but took off in 2009, partly because TracFone announced a new program whereby eligible individuals could get a free phone and free monthly minutes. As a result, participation in the program (and costs) skyrocketed:

Program participation was stable from 2005 to 2008, from 6.9 million to 7.1 million participants, but increased to 8.6 million in 2009. Likewise, support payments were relatively stable from 2005 to 2008, from $802 million to $823 million annually, before increasing to approximately $1 billion in 2009.

The rapid growth of the program has continued since then. In 2011, the FCC estimated the cost (page 153) of the program would be $2.1 billion and said it would reach $3.3 billion by 2014 absent major reforms. The FCC also found that part of the problem with the program was rampant fraud:

[O]ur ongoing oversight has revealed that a substantial number of subscribers are receiving duplicative Lifeline support, which includes individuals receiving two or more Lifeline benefits from ETCs as well as two or more individuals in a household receiving benefits from multiple ETCs.

How bad is the fraud? A survey conducted by the FCC across 17 states and territories found that, on average, 9% of phone recipients were ineligible (page 243). In some states like Alabama, New Hampshire, and West Virginia, the ineligibility rate was 18-19%. And all of that is based on a survey to which 27% of users refused to respond to questions.

In order to combat this problem, the FCC recommending the creation of a national database to keep track of multiple users. The project was expected to cost $7.5-$10 million to set up, though this is much less than the amount the government is expected to save by cutting duplicate lines.

And the freebies won’t end with basic calling service. As part of the effort to extend broadband, the FCC has been discussing making broadband service part of the Lifeline program. In other words, taxpayers could soon be paying for smartphone features on these free government phones.

The real question is why American consumers should be providing free cell phones and free monthly talk time to 10 million people in the first place. As you can see in this video report from a Chicago ABC affiliate, some people signing up for these free phones are doing so to replace cell phones they already have (and have to pay for). If the goal is really to connect individuals to essential services such as fire and police, FCC rules already mandate that carriers transmit those calls along with detailed location information regardless of whether an individual has service with a carrier or not. Given our debt and our deficits, it is time to consider hanging up on this booming, fraud-ridden Lifeline to taxpayer’s wallets.

I read about this program when the media first announced it, and I thought, “OH MYYYY GAHHHH!  The poor are living better than I!”  And, sad too say, that’s not a new thing.   I belong to that class of people, the ones in the so-called, middle who end up footing the bill for every single problem in this country, and I’m in that group that now has to live paycheck to paycheck–the ones who have to pay the high prices when they come, like gasoline, utilities, heat bills, yearly taxes on personal property, and yearly taxes on real property–taxes, taxes, taxes that are used to pay for food stamps, doctors and emergency room bills, medicine for malingerers, gold-brickers, and now cell phones and their monthly fees!  I’m sick of it!  And NO, I’m not against charity and a helping hand for those who need and deserve it.  I am not for the generation, after generation, group of individuals who work the system better than a stripper works the guy she dances on.  SICK-OF-IT, SICK-AND-TIRED-OF-IT–DO YOU HEAR ME!!!  And don’t get me started about the other stuff I’m sick and tired of, but that’s

Eric Holder Defends Stance That Allows for Voter Fraud

posted on June 14, 2012 by

Read more:

Over the past year, US Attorney General Eric Holder has been fighting every attempt by states to enact voter ID laws.  He repeatedly says that requiring some form of voter ID is unconstitutional because it discriminates against minorities and poor people.

Earlier this week, Holder was addressing a group from the League of Women Voters in Washington DC.  He told them that the incidence of ‘in-person voting fraud is uncommon.’  He went on to say,

“Making voter registration easier is, simply, not likely by itself to make our election more susceptible to fraud. Indeed, those on all sides of this debate have acknowledged that in-person voting fraud is uncommon.  We must be honest about this, and we must recognize that our ability to ensure the strength and the integrity of our election systems — and to advance the reforms necessary to achieve this — depends on whether the American people are informed, engaged and willing to demand common sense solutions that make voting more accessible.”

But that doesn’t explain why Holder just ordered Florida to stop purging their vote registration records of people who have died or who are not citizens and thus ineligible to vote.

Evidently the US Attorney General is unaware of the number of illegal voters there are.  Back in April I reported on the number of illegals that have been voting in elections all over the nation.  In January I reported that a number of dead people had voted in the New Hampshire primary.  Last December I reported on the connection between Project Vote, ACORN, the Democratic Party and voter fraud.

I can’t believe that Holder is that uniformed or that stupid to not be aware of how much voter fraud had been reported, especially if he had worked on voter fraud within the DOJ as he told the League of Women voters.  The only logical conclusion that can be drawn from Holder’s actions and words is that he and the Democratic Party are planning on using voter fraud to get Barack Obama re-elected in November.  It seems that they are counting on using the names of dead people along with getting as many illegals and non-citizens to register and vote.

I wonder if exit polls will keep track of these groups of voters and how they voted and perhaps how often they voted?

If You Disagree with President Obama You Must be a Racist

posted on June 17, 2012 by

Read more:

Since 2010, I have not received a salary from the company where I’m the president and have worked for 31 years. My business partner, who is vice-president, also does not receive a salary. In addition, we’ve had to lay off a few people. My wife was the first to be let go. Thankfully, we have other jobs. We’ve used some of the profits from our successful businesses to help with the financial shortfall of our struggling company. Here’s what a report by Citibank found:

“Keeping businesses afloat has required sacrifices on the part of both employer and employees, the survey found. Over the past few years, business owners report that they have, at one time or another, taken less profit (78 percent), worked more hours than usual (70 percent), and used their own money to help the business survive (69 percent).

“But what is most revealing is that the majority of respondents — 54 percent — say they have gone without a paycheck in order to keep the business running. And nearly one-quarter (23 percent) have gone without pay for one year or more.

Employees, too, sacrificed finances for their employers. More than one-third of owners (38 percent) said their employees worked overtime without pay; 18 percent said employees either missed paychecks or had paychecks delayed.”

These numbers show that unemployment is higher than even the skewed official numbers are telling us. If these owners are not able to pay themselves, this means that there is a cash flow problem. When there’s a cash flow problem, there’s a downside to hiring, equipment purchasing, and company expansion.

It doesn’t help when you don’t know what’s coming down the pike from this administration. The president is skirting the law and autonomously creating his own law out of thin air. What will he do next? It’s anybody’s guess.

What are healthcare costs going to do? What about taxes? It’s the unknown that makes people fearful to take financial risks.

President Obama does not like American values. He resents American exceptionalism. It doesn’t matter if he was born in Kenya or Hawaii. He’s not an American at heart. But like all would be dictators, he wants to live above the rabble. So while he pushes for some form of economic parity among the common people, he will live far above them.

As usual, the Left is blaming all criticism of President Obama on racism. It’s not his policies that anger conservatives, it’s his race. There are too many examples to cite. Here a a few of the most recent ones. “HBO host Bill Maher suggested that the content that appears on the Drudge Report obviously demonstrates ‘racism in America.’” His evidence? Drudge links to stories about black notables. Drudge doesn’t write the stories. He just links to them. It seems to me, if the logic is followed, that the racists are the ones who reported the stories. Let’s take the Marion Barry story that appeared in the Washington Examiner and the ultra-liberal Huffington Post. Here’s what Barry said:

“We got to do something about these Asians coming in and opening up businesses and dirty shops. They ought to go.

Politico reporter Joe Williams claimed that racism was behind Neil Munro’s questioning of President Obama at the White House during his latest unconstitutional immigration Executive Order.  Williams said that “it’s very, very difficult to place race outside of this context. . . . [I]t’s hard to divorce that because this president doesn’t look like the others.”

Former ABC White House correspondent Sam Donaldson told the Huffington Post that many conservatives “believe this president ought not to be there – they oppose him not for his polices and political view but for who he is, an African American! These people and perhaps even certain news organizations (certainly the right wing talkers like Limbaugh) encourage disrespect for this president.”

Such short memories.

Ronald Reagan, the elder George Bush, and George Bush the younger were savaged in the press and by liberal talkers as a matter of course. Purist liberals would say that it was because of their policies and nothing else. George W. Bush is still savaged today. Obama can’t stop blaming him, and the liberal folks at HBO used his head as a prop in a beheading scene in Episode 10 from the first season of HBO’s fantasy series Game of Thrones. It’s all about policy. Yea, right.

There’s a website devoted to “Bush = Hitler” allusions. In addition to the articles, there are dozens and dozens of “Bush = Hitler” images.

The latest liberal attack on conservatives comes from Waiting to Exhale author Terry McMillan, who is black. Any opposition to her liberal agenda must be racially inspired. What else could it be? “[W]hat the Republicans have made crystal clear,” McMillan wrote, “is how racists [sic] they are & how many people in this country are too. And not hiding it.”

To add insult to injury in her Twitter rant, she wrote that “Republicans are behaving just like Hitler did.” Stella might have gotten her groove back,[1] but she didn’t get in high school where she should have learned that Hitler was a Socialist. Nazi stands for “National Socialism.”

There’s no race card to pull when a candidate is white, so it can only be about policies and political views. And what if a black person objects to the policies of President Obama? He’s sold out. He’s an Oreo — black on the outside but white on the inside — or an Uncle Tom. These types of turncoat blacks are only being used by the white establishment. Racism is the liberal narrative. They don’t have anything else to go on.

Liberals can hide behind the charges of racism, sexism, and “homophobia” and not have to deal with policies as policies. Those who honestly oppose a policy on its merits or the lack thereof find themselves on the defensive having to argue that they are not racists. The policy gets lost in the name calling. And that’s the reason for the relentless ad hominem attacks. Keep your opponent off balance so the public never gets to hear how ridiculous leftism really is. Appeal to people’s emotions and stereotypes. That’s how liberals win elections, that and buying votes with our money and the money of future generations.

I’m going to say that right now. But we need African-American businesspeople to be able to take their places, too.”

Obama suspends deportation for thousands of illegals, tells GOP to pass DREAM Act

Published June 15, 2012

FoxNews.comPresident Obama said Friday the United States will stop deporting

President Obama said Friday the United States will stop deporting hundreds of thousands of young illegal immigrants and give them work permits, a move praised fellow Democrats but criticized by Republicans on Capitol Hill who said the administration has side-stepped the country’s legislative process.

The executive order will apply to illegal immigrants who came to the U.S. before they were 16 and are younger than 30. They also must have no criminal record, have been in the country for at least five continuous years, have graduated from a U.S. high school or have earned a GED, or served in the military.

“These are young people who study in our schools and play on our playgrounds,” the president said. “They are Americans in every single way but one – on paper.”

Those now eligible also can apply for a work permit that will be good for two years with no limits on how many times it can be renewed.

The change is expected to impact roughly 800,000 illegal immigrants.

The election-year announcement was met with surprise and question by several GOP lawmakers.

“This is another example of executive overreach,” Florida GOP Rep. Allen West told Fox News.

West said he just learned about the policy change Friday morning and that such a move should have come through legislation on Capitol Hill where it could be debated.

“That’s how we do business in the United States,” said West, R; Fla.

New York GOP Rep. Peter King, chairman of the House Committee on Homeland Security, vowed an “immediate review” into the possibility that the Department Of Homeland Security will direct U.S. Border Patrol agents to conduct selective enforcement.

GOP Presidential candidate Mitt Romney said the president’s order makes reaching a long-term solution more difficult.

“If I’m elected president, we’ll do our best to have the long-term solution,” he said.

Obama suggested he ordered the policy change because Capitol Hill Republicans have blocked the so-called DREAM Act, buts said the lawmakers still have time to pass such legislation.

“I’ve said this time and again to Congress,” the president said at the Rose Garden press conference. “Send me the DREAM Act, put it on my desk, and I’ll sign it.”

In urging Congress to pass the legislation, the president said his change was “stop gap” and not “a permanent fix.”

The president also made clear his change was not amnesty, immunity or a path to citizenship.

The policy is similar to one by Florida GOP Sen. Marco Rubio in that it is an alternative to the DREAM Act. However, the first-term senator did not support the president’s order.

“Today’s announcement will be welcome news for many of these kids desperate for an answer, but it is a short-term answer to a long term problem,” Rubio said. “And by once again ignoring the Constitution and going around Congress, this short-term policy will make it harder to find a balanced and responsible long term one.”

The president was briefly interrupted by a reporter who asked: “Mr. President, why do you favor foreign workers over Americans?”

Obama sternly told the reporter – identified as Neil Munro of The Daily Caller – not to interrupt.

“Excuse me, sir, but it’s not time for questions,” Obama responded.

“Are you going to take questions?” Munro asked.

“Not while I’m speaking.” Obama said.

The reporter later said he though the president was finished talking.

Earlier in the day, Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano said the change takes effect immediately and is needed to ensure enforcement resources are not expended on “low-priority cases.”

“Young people brought to U.S. by no fault of their own and meet several criteria no longer are removed from country or entered into removal proceedings,” Napolitano said in a conference call with reporters.

The policy change was reported first by the Associated Press.

The move comes in an election year in which the Hispanic vote could be critical in swing states like Colorado, Nevada and Florida.

While Obama has support from a majority of Hispanic voters, Latino enthusiasm for the president has been tempered by the slow economic recovery, his inability to win congressional support for a broad overhaul of immigration laws and by his administration’s aggressive deportation policy.

Romney and many Republican lawmakers want tighter border security measures before considering changes in immigration law. Romney opposes offering legal status to illegal immigrants who attend college but has said he would do so for those who serve in the armed forces.

An NBC News/Wall Street Journal poll last month found Obama leading Romney among Hispanic voters 61 percent to 27 percent. But his administration’s deportation policies have come under fire, and Latino leaders have raised the subject in private meetings with the president. In 2011, Immigration and Customs Enforcement deported a record 396,906 people and is expected to deport about 400,000 this year.

Under the administration’s plan, immigrants whose deportation cases are pending in immigration court will have to prove their eligibility for a reprieve to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, which will begin dealing with such cases in 60 days. Any immigrant who already has a deportation order and those who never have been encountered by immigration authorities will deal with the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services.

Last year, Napolitano announced plans to review about 300,000 pending deportation cases and indefinitely suspend those that didn’t meet department priorities. So far, Immigration and Customs Enforcement has reviewed more than 232,000 cases and decided to stop working on about 20,000. About 4,000 of those 20,000 have opted to keep fighting in court to stay in the United States legally. For the people who opted to close their cases, work permits are not guaranteed.

The Associated Press contributed to this report.

Fmr. Bush Atty General: Obama May Have Violated Oath Of Office With New Immigration Policy

by Meenal Vamburkar | 2:11 pm, June 17th, 2012

Following President Obama‘s new immigration policy announcement, former George W. Bush administration Attorney General Alberto Gonzales voiced some concern about the means through which the president accomplished his goal. In issuing an executive order, he said, Obama may have violated his oath of office.

“To halt through executive order the deportation of some undocumented immigrants looks like a political calculation to win Hispanic votes,” Gonzales said at the Faith & Freedom Coalition conference on Saturday, “and subjects him to criticism that he is violating his oath of office by selectively failing to enforce the law.”

Gonzales went on to say he does support “providing help to qualified children of immigrants,” but that Obama’s policy falls short in other respects:

The president’s new policy does nothing to secure our borders or require greater workplace enforcement nor deal with visa overstayers (sic) nor deal with the millions of undocumented immigrants who entered this country as adults.

Asked by TPM about whether Mitt Romney, as president, should hypothetically keep the policy intact, Gonzales evaded a direct answer.

“I’m already on record supporting helping these kids,” he said. “We need to provide some kind of help for these kids,” he told another reporter.

MY TWO CENTS  A ploy to gain votes?  Ya think!?  If Romney keeps this unconstitutional executive order, he is as guilty of violations as Obama!  Obama is impeachable, and why that process has not begun, given the turn over in the House, is beyond me.  Media should act immediately to ask him what he will do, but that’s

In 2003, Human Events columnist and Washington Times reporter Robert Novak became the author of a national furor when he published a story revealing the identity of Valerie Plame, then an agent with the CIA. The ensuing scandal about the leaked information spawned a grand jury investigation, a criminal probe, and a federal trial. A junior Democratic senator from Illinois, Barack Obama, signed a 2005 letter urging that an independent counsel be appointed to investigate the matter. Ultimately a White House source, Lewis “Scooter” Libby, would receive a fine and commuted prison sentence, convicted on charges related to the leaks.

But that was then.

In the weeks following the publication of a series of New York Times stories, including detailed accounts of U.S. use of cyber-weapons on Iranian technology systems and revelations about drone strikes and the president’s terrorist “kill list,” members of Congress have rushed to condemn the numerous information leaks that apparently trace back to the White House and to call for investigations and accountability.

Yet the president himself appears only modestly concerned. “I can tell you that this administration, this White House, under the guidance of the president, takes very seriously the need to protect classified and sensitive information,” White House spokesman Jay Carney said in a press gaggle last week. “…There is no need for special counsel. These things have been sufficiently investigated when that is appropriate.”

So what is the difference between the two leaking scandals?

According to the president of the Foreign Policy Initiative, Jamie M. Fly, it’s in the severity of the offense, and he considers the latest episode worthy of urgent scrutiny. “It’s not common at all for officials to discuss those types of things with reporters,” Fly, a former member of the National Security Council, said, noting the information could imperil ongoing operations, relationships with U.S. allies, and even lives. “It’s above and beyond the kind of leaking that goes on in Washington.”

Tom Fitton, president of watchdog organization Judicial Watch, said these recent leaks “made Valerie Plame look like jaywalking.”

Fitton is an expert regarding the Obama administration’s handling of information; his organization regularly deploys the Freedom of Information Act to obtain records detailing the actions of the presidency. In a groundbreaking release last month, Judicial Watch illustrated the way the administration has already handled privileged information to its advantage, giving filmmaker Kathryn Bigelow access to sources and information regarding the Osama bin Laden raid that included the identity of the commander of Seal Team Six.

As in that instance, Fitton said this current series of revelations appears hugely beneficial to Obama, and that makes Fitton suspicious.

Parsing the president’s words

“The president’s words need to be parsed. He said there were no leaks of classified national security information,” Fitton said. “They were, quote, declassified. The words are the equivalent of ‘what is, is’ in terms of his denials, and it’s belied by what has gone on.”

If Obama authorized the release of the sensitive information, the leaks would not be a criminal offense; but the political consequences of such a move could be devastating as voters evaluate whether and to what degree the president purposely put America and Americans in harm’s way in order to serve his re-election interests.

Fitton said Judicial Watch would be conducting its own investigation into the matter.

In coming weeks, debate will center on which entity is more appropriate to investigate the leaks: a panel of two U.S. attorneys (including Ron Machen, a donor to the 2008 Obama campaign) appointed by the politically beleaguered Attorney General Eric Holder, or an independent counsel.

Equally important is a question of consequences. “I’d like to see the president or Jay Carney or someone else explain what would happen if it is discovered that the leaks came from the White House,” Fly said. “The fact is that it was high-level meetings in the White House situation room being discussed.”

One great concern, Fly said, was that profligate information sharing at the top levels, while acknowledged, would not meet real repercussions, as apparently happened in the days following the bin Laden raid.

“This has actually been a trend in this administration,” he said.

I have another take on the White House leaks.  Assume, for a moment that Barack Obama and his cronies are, in fact, activist members of the Muslim Brotherhood, and National Security leaks are a way of helping the “cause” rather than to show US voters how big his whoo-ha is!  The man has never done anything in his life that wasn’t self-serving and motivated by the race-victim ideology.  This thought is likely closer to the truth than anything else, and another impeachable offense.  But that’s,

Congress calls for ‘complete, impartial, and fair investigation’ into White House leaks

By: Robert Maginnis

6/18/2012 07:18 AM

The Obama administration is leaking sensitive information to bolster the president’s national security credentials and portray him as a hands-on commander in chief in preparation for the November presidential election. These leaks damage our security, the culprits ought to go to jail, and Congress must quickly stop the hemorrhaging.

Leaders on Capitol Hill are rightly alarmed. “The recent disclosures of sensitive information constitute damaging breaches of U.S. national security,” said Rep. Mike Rogers (R-Mich.), Chairman of the House Intelligence Committee. “We must demand assurances from the attorney general that the Department of Justice prosecutors are empowered to conduct a complete, impartial, and fair investigation.”

Friday, Attorney General Eric Holder Jr. announced the appointment of two top prosecutors to lead investigations into recent disclosures. But the vast majority of past leak-related investigations delivered nothing conclusive and this investigation is already crippled because the DOJ’s National Security Division recused itself and the Central Intelligence Agency plans to withhold information, according to Rep. Rogers.

But “there is no doubt in my mind much of it [recent leaks] flows from the White House,” said Rep. Buck McKeon (R-Calif.), Chairman of the House Armed Services Committee. “The president has a leak problem, and I think it will take action from Congress to fix it.

Consider evidence of the administration’s “leak problem” and the impact.

First, Obama officials leaked to the New York Times details of our successful cyber attack against Iran’s nuclear program. The June 1 article sourced a “member of the president’s national security team” and “officials who attended White House situation room meetings.”

The attack was an act of war against a sovereign state. The article states the National Security Agency (NSA) and Israel’s secret Unit 8200 jointly developed and planted the “Stuxnet” virus in Iran’s Natanz uranium enrichment computer. “Olympic Games,” the code name for the highly-classified cyber operation, crippled Iran’s uranium enrichment centrifuges which may have prevented Israel from carrying out a military operation, according to White House officials.

Those same sources leaked the existence of a sophisticated cyber mapping technology. NSA created a computer code called a “beacon” which was inserted into a Siemens computer used by Iran at the Natanz facility. The “beacon” electronically mapped the facility’s structure and rhythms which were transmitted to NSA and used to refine the “Stuxnet” virus.

An Israeli spy with connections inside the Iranian facility planted the virus, according to White House officials, using a thumb drive.

Administration officials said Obama expressed concern that acknowledging responsibility for the attack might encourage other countries to justify their own attacks. But the administration officials went ahead with the leak and further, the sources said, the administration even discussed using similar technologies against North Korea, China, Syria, and al Qaeda.

No wonder Secretary of Defense Leon Panetta testified last Thursday that America faces a “Pearl Harbor” style cyber attack. Perhaps the “Stuxnet” attack and knowledge the administration is considering more attacks will provoke our enemies to similarly attack America.

Second, Obama officials compromised sensitive information about the killing of al Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden. The compromise started last summer.

Last August the History Channel ran a documentary Targeting bin Laden that celebrates “the greatest victory in the war on terror.” It features a puff interview with Obama and is chock-full of sensitive national security information that reflects the administration’s full cooperation.

That documentary evidently tapped the same administration sources used by Nicholas Schmidle in his August 2011 New Yorker article. That article exposed the identities of national security personnel and our special operating forces’ techniques, tactics, procedures, and technologies used in the May 2, 2011 raid.

Similar administration carelessness exposed the Pakistani doctor who helped the CIA with information that led to the bin Laden raid. Shakil Afridi ran a vaccination program in 2011 as a cover for the CIA to establish that bin Laden was living in Abbottabad. For his help, Pakistan sentenced the doctor to 33 years in prison.

Recently Judicial Watch, a legal watchdog organization, obtained Pentagon papers indicating Obama officials granted movie director Kathryn Bigelow access to a “planner, operator and commander of Seal Team Six,” the special forces unit that killed bin Laden.

Bigelow, an Obama supporter, is working on a film about the raid called “Zero Dark Thirty” which is scheduled to be released before the fall presidential election. What secrets did the White House give Bigelow to make Obama look good?

Third, two weeks ago Newsweek and the New York Times published articles profiling Obama’s “kill list” meetings. Those regular gatherings are chaired by Obama who is portrayed as a decisive leader handpicking the next al Qaeda leader to kill.

Thomas Donilon, Obama’s national security adviser, and other administration officials leaked details about the sensitive process. But Dennis Blair, former Director of National Intelligence, said Obama is fixated on a Vietnam-like body count at the expense of developing a much needed long-term anti-terrorism strategy.

Sensitive details of the CIA’s terrorist targeting program are cited such as how the agency selects targets and thinks about al Qaeda’s organizational behavior. The articles also expose the Pentagon’s secret Terrorist Attack Disruption Strike program.

Obama is portrayed as unflinching when ordering an al Qaeda leader killed knowing the attack will also take the lives of the man’s family. Further, White House sources indicate Obama justified killing Anwar al-Awlaki, an American citizen terrorist in Yemen, asserting the man’s 5th Amendment due process is satisfied by his administration’s analysis.

Finally, two other sensitive operations recently hit the front pages that make Obama appear pro-active — but compromise our security.

In May the Associated Press broke a story about the CIA foiling another al Qaeda underwear bomb plot to bring down a U.S. airliner. The article exposed sensitive operational details such as it was a joint Saudi-U.S. operation that used a double agent posing as a suicide bomber. The account identified a new al Qaeda bomb factory which was likely immediately relocated and indicated the U.S. has no idea how many other underwear bombs might be at the ready.

Thursday’s Washington Post ran a story about military spying in Africa. It identified secret airfields from which U.S. intelligence operations use Swiss-made Pilatus PC-12 aircraft and profiled our classified spy hub in Burkina Faso known as “Creek Sand” and the 65-man U.S. “fusion cell” there code-named “Aztec Archer.”

“Each time classified information shows up in the media, the intelligence community’s ability to do these dangerous assignments becomes that much more difficult,” said U.S. Sen. Saxby Chambliss (R-Ga.). These leaks “tell our enemies how we do our jobs” and make “our friends… wonder how much they can really trust us.”

While the administration’s intent for leaking the intelligence information is to make Obama look like a national security leader, the truth is they are compromising our national security, increasing the chances for serious retaliation, and make Obama look like his administration is out of control. The leakers should be tossed in jail and Congress must quickly put in place mechanisms that stop gratuitous leaks and block the media’s pavlovian anti-America complicity.

The motive was not to “. . . bolster the president’s national security credentials and portray him as a hands-on commander in chief in preparation for the November presidential election.”  It was to help his brother, radical Islamists.  It is mere coincidence if the leaks show anything of ‘security credentials.’  I have a question; why hasn’t impeachment hearing begun?

Trayvon Martin is the black teenager police say was shot and killed after an alleged attack on neighborhood watch person. Owens’ sister, Ashley Parker, saw the attack. “It was the scariest thing I have ever witnessed.” Parker says 20 people, all African American, attacked her brother on the front porch of his home, using “brass buckles, paint cans and anything they could get their hands on.”

Media censored seven hate crime mob attacks in Grand Rapids
You didn’t hear about this is the media, but on the weekend of March 24th and March 25th at least seven white people were brutally beaten by mobs of blacks in Grand Rapids, MI. Five of the victims filed police reports. At least two other victims exist, and there are probably others. The local media has refused to report the cruel attacks and the authorities are resisting any serious charges. I talked with one of the victims, 37 year old Jacob Palasek. He is a full time student and does computer work part time. He was attacked by a wolf pack of thugs on the corner of Sixth Street and Broadway in Grand Rapids, Michigan just after midnight on March 25th. The location is a mix of stores, offices, and residential neighborhoods. Jacob lives near where he was attacked. As he was walking to his apartment, he saw three black males loitering. One was on a bicycle. The suspect on the bicycle rode up beside him. Suddenly the thug smashed him in the side of the head with a chain. He was hit two or three more times in the head with the chain before he broke loose and ran to the nearest home. He knocked on the door, hoping the owner would call the police. White hate crime victim describes racially motivated black mob attack in Grand Rapids
“…I was a victim of a “Trayvon Martin” related Black on White Hate Crime. On Sunday 3/25/2012 at approximately 12:20AM, in Grand Rapids Michigan, near Sixth Street and Broadway, I was beaten with a large chain five to six times in my temple area (I could have died). This was for no reason other than that I am white. They did not rob me they just called me a white piece of shit and said I deserve it what I was getting. They did not only beat me but four to six others for the same reason (i.e. no robbery just racial hatred).I was told by the detective that those kids being about 16 or 17 will get no jail time for beating me with a chain and calling me a white piece of shit while they did it…” (more at link)
“I emailed all local news stations and the local press. No one seems to care. No one replied.

I guess it does not make news when it happens to a white person.
All I have so far is pictures the police took and the police report.
I did ID who did it but since they are 17 the police say it is not likely that they will get any jail time even though the “youth gang” as they call them was responsible for 4 other racially motivated aggravated assaults within a 48 period of mine.”
Jacob Palasek

Editor note: apparently Black-on White hate crime attacks are not ‘newsworthy’.
Because they are so common? Or because there is a fear of reporting black on white crime as it would be ‘racist’?
Or because blacks and ‘black leaders’ see all blacks accused as ‘innocent victims of white racism’.
There is a fear of igniting black races riots as in the 1960’s which destroyed several U.S. cities.

White man tells police black pack yelled ‘Trayvon,’ then beat him
Police are investigating the “racially motivated” beating of a 27-year-old man who was walking home from midtown bars early Saturday when he said he was jumped by five to eight men who shouted “Trayvon” before the attack. “We do believe that the crime was racially motivated,” Gainesville Police Department spokeswoman Cpl. Angelina Valuri said. The assailants were black, while the victim is white, Valuri said. – (Newsroom) – (Black-on-white)

Cold case arrest: black N.J. man accused of 1976 rape, murder of White Westfield woman
Carlton R. FranklinLena TrianoFor decades, Westfield police were baffled by the death of Lena Triano, a quiet secretary who lived alone in the Ripley Place home where she was killed in 1976. The 57-year-old Triano looked after the neighborhood kids, loaned money to a close friend, and liked to speak Italian, said the friend, Maria Sclama, now 74. Police wondered, would have wanted to kill Triano, let alone rape, strangle and stab her to death? Investigators believe Triano’s killer lived a few hundred feet away, on Stirling Place, and was just 15 at the time. They say he hog-tied her, raped, strangled, beat and stabbed her again and again, puncturing her lungs more than once. The suspect is Carlton R. Franklin, an oil truck driver who spent nearly two decades in prison for kidnapping and robbery. He was released in 1999, according to state corrections records. – (Black rapes) – (Black-on-white) – (Newsroom)

Black ‘youth’ Shawn Tyson, 17, gets life for killing 2 White British men on vacation
Shawn TysonA Florida teenager received a life sentence after a jury convicted him of first-degree murder in the shooting deaths of two young British tourists last April, a case that generated blaring tabloid headlines in the U.K. press. Shawn Tyson, 17, sat stone-faced as the jury’s verdict was read and as two friends of the victims spoke angrily about the crime. When Judge Rick De Furia asked Tyson if he wanted to say anything before being sentenced, Tyson mumbled, “No.” The verdict came after two hours of deliberations and the sentencing about an hour after the verdict. Because he is under 18, Tyson is ineligible for the death penalty and is facing a mandatory life sentence. During the trial, witnesses testified that Tyson shot James Kouzaris, 24, and James Cooper, 25 last April 16. The two men were vacationing in Sarasota and spent an evening drinking when they got lost and walked into a housing project where Tyson lived. Details of their deaths have gripped the British news media. Tabloids there have written stories saying the men were “slaughtered” in a Florida “ghetto.” – (Newsroom) – (Black-on-white)

Two blacks that savagely raped a White teen may get life sentences reduced
Emmanuel PaulDavid SlocumJenny ClarkWEST PALM BEACH — A U.S. Supreme Court decision brought together three people on Tuesday who inarguably never wanted to see each other again: a rape victim and her two attackers. For Jenny Clark, who was a 17-year-old student from Switzerland in 1994 when she was grabbed in her car on North Flagler Drive, threatened with death and forced to perform unspeakable sex acts, the hearing was about maintaining her safety and the safety of society. For David Slocum and Emmanuel Paul, who were 16 when they were sentenced to life imprisonment, it was about regaining their freedom.

Accused Black Killer of White Boy “Not Competent To Stand Trial”
Gregory MurphyKevin ShiffletA judge in Alexandria ruled that Gregory Murphy was still not competent to stand trial for allegedly killing 8-year-old Kevin Shiffletin 2000. The boy was stabbed to death as he played in front of his grandmother’s home in Alexandria’s Del Ray neighborhood.

At one time, Murphy was found incompetent to stand trial and was put on medication. Last month, Evan Nelson, a court-appointed psychologist, said Murphy’s condition had improved and he was fit for trial. But Nelson examined Murphy again on Thursday, and said he was still not well enough to face charges. Doctors said Murphy’s objective test data indicate he is functioning in the mentally retarded range and exhibits indications of significant brain impairment.

GOP lawmaker’s bill would block Obama deportation policy

By Pete Kasperowicz – 06/19/12 09:10 AM ET

Rep. David Schweikert (R-Ariz.) on Monday proposed legislation that would block enforcement of President Obama’s new policy of letting certain illegal immigrants request temporary relief from deportation.

Schweikert’s bill would specifically prohibit the Department of Homeland Security from allowing that relief, which Obama described on Friday as an option for up to 800,000 immigrants who came to the United States illegally at a young age. Schweikert said his bill would prevent Obama from “dictating” immigration law from the White House.

“Last week, the president decided to grant amnesty and hand out work permits to hundreds of thousands of illegal immigrants, while over 23 million Americans remain unemployed and the civilian participation rate is at a 30-year low,” he said Monday. “This amounts to an abdication of duty to the American people who are struggling in this economy.

“Instead of working with Congress to secure our border and reform our immigration policy, President Obama sought to circumvent Congress once again.”

On Friday, Obama said the DHS would immediately allow people who don’t pose a national security risk to ask for temporary relief from deportation proceedings and apply for work authorization. While Schweikert’s bill would prevent DHS from enforcing executive orders on immigration, Obama’s policy change came only in the form of a memo on prosecutorial discretion from Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano, not an executive order.

Republicans have continued to criticize Obama’s announcement as a political ploy to win over minority voters in the November election, one that consciously seeks to avoid enforcement of laws on the books.

On Monday, House Republicans blasted the decision as one that ignores the primary role of Congress in writing immigration laws, and said Congress needs to fight back against the selective enforcement of these laws.

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) and other Senate Democrats welcomed the move, and Reid said the decision is appropriate in large part because Congress has been unable to act on immigration reform.

House Republicans on Tuesday morning continued to rail against the Obama announcement. Aside from opposing what they call the selective enforcement of U.S. immigration law, they argued that by letting illegal aliens apply for work authorization, Obama is forcing unemployed U.S. citizens to compete with non-citizens.

“The White House decree is bad for America,” said Rep. Mo Brooks (R-Ala.). “It is unconscionable for the White House to pit unemployed Americans against illegal aliens in a competition for scarce jobs.”

“It would be nice if the president was as concerned about the 23 million Americans looking for work in America as he is about the 12 million undocumented individuals the president claims are looking for work in America,” Rep. Ted Poe (R-Texas) added.

Investigator: Foreigners bought Hawaii birth certificates

Posted on June 16, 2012 by Conservative Byte

The lead investigator for Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio’s Cold Case Posse – which already has found probable cause that Barack Obama’s publicly released birth certificate is a forgery – says any Hawaii documentation for Obama’s birth that exists would probably be of little value.

Mike Zullo,  a retired New Jersey detective now heading Arpaio’s volunteer investigative team, explained in an interview that at the time of Obama’s birth during the state’s early years, Hawaii birth documentation routinely was purchased by foreigners for children not born in the state.

Arpaio’s investigation was launched last September after constituents came to the sheriff with their concern that Obama was ineligible for the presidency and would perpetrate a fraud by placing his name on the state’s ballot.

Zullo’s comments came in an interview with Tea Party Power Hour host Mark Gillar.

Gillar described the process in the 1960s: Foreign nationals, primarily from Japan, would fly to Hawaii and buy a birth registration for their son or daughter, not with the goal of one day having them become president, but to obtain the benefits of being a U.S. citizen.

Zullo said that when he was in Hawaii last month following up on leads, he talked to older locals who “informed us about a syndicate operation, a Mafia operation if you will, being run in the early infancy of the state of Hawaii where birth certificates were being sold to Japanese refugees on a black market basis.”

At that time, Japan was still undergoing post-war reconstruction while America was an established superpower.

Zullo said there was a business in Hawaii in “birth certificates … for profit.”

Obama released an image of a Hawaiian birth certificate last year as “proof positive” of his birth in the U.S. and “natural born” citizenship, a constitutional requirement for the presidency.

There have been numerous challenges to Obama’s eligibility. Some say that regardless of where he was born, he isn’t qualified because the Founding Fathers understood a natural-born citizen to be the offspring of two U.S. citizens. Obama’s father was a foreign national who only attended school in the U.S.

Zullo also debunked again the contention that 1961 newspaper birth announcements prove anything. He argued the listings were generated automatically by the state and delivered for publication based on the registration of any child with the state.

“Anybody that is hanging their hat on a newspaper entry to prove … Barack Obama [was] born in the state of Hawaii doesn’t know what they’re talking about,” he said.

The births of Japanese children whose parents purchased Hawaii birth certificates also would be listed in the papers, he explained.

During that time period, Japanese parents would fly to Hawaii so their children, born in Japan, could have the benefits of American citizenship, he said.

For that reason, he said, Obama can’t claim that a Hawaii birth certificate is proof he was born in the state.

The interview:

The interview also addressed unanswered questions about the “discovery” of the Obama birth documentation. Hawaii Gov. Neil Abercrombie, when elected, promised to track down the documentation to put to rest the arguments over Obama’s birth location and eligibility.

The governor eventually concluded, in January 2011, that there was something “written” in state records, but he was unable to produce any documents to the public.

Then, when Obama requested a certified copy of the original documentation three months later, state officials reportedly produced the documentation.

Abercrombie is no longer eager to address the issue.

Earlier this week, WND tried to find out what happened to the governor’s self-initiated research into Obama’s birth documentation.

Initially, Abercrombie  spokeswoman Donalyn Delacruz told WND she was happy to help with questions – until she found out the subject.

When WND asked in an email for an explanation of why Abercrombie’s investigation could not turn up the documentation, she refused to answer.

“What news organization are you with?” she demanded. “We get frequent ‘birther’ questions and this would fall in that category.”

Subsequently, she refused to respond to email questions.

When WND called, a receptionist in the office responded to the same inquiry with “That’s been done” – apparently meaning president had released the birth certification image. But she promised to take a message and have someone call back.

No one did.

WND had questions about the anomalous results: The governor’s stated inability to find the documentation and the state agency’s later simple recovery and alleged duplication of the same record.

It was shortly after his election that Abercrombie vowed to end the questions from those who doubted Obama’s status as a “natural born citizen.”

Stated Abercrombie then: “We’ll do what we can as quickly as we can to make it inevitable that only those who wish the president ill, only the ones with a political agenda, will be the ones doing this kind of thing.

“The president is entitled to the respect of his office and he’s entitled to have his mother and father respected,” he said.

He said he was instructing his attorney general and the chief of the state’s health agency to look at what legal avenues could be used to release information.

“This is a transparent state in terms of our communication with one another,” Abercrombie said. “This is the Aloha state. We care for each other, we look out for each other, we’re family.”

He told CNN in that interview that he would pursue the information regardless of the feelings of the White House.

“It’s a matter of principle with me. I knew his mom and dad. I was here when he was born. Anybody who wants to ask a question honestly could have had their answer already,” he announced.

Obama’s narrative states that he was born Aug. 4, 1961, at Kapiolani Hospital in Honolulu.

However, after a flurry of high-profile media interviews in which he blasted “birthers,” Abercrombie suddenly went silent even though polls reveal nearly six on 10 doubt Obama’s own eligibility story.

He told the Honolulu Star-Advertiser about Obama’s documentation: “It actually exists in the archives, written down.” The London Daily Mail, however, noted Abercrombie “suggested that a long-form, hospital-generated birth certificate for Barack Obama may not exist within the vital records maintained by the Hawaii Department of Health.”

Yet, when Obama wanted the records, the state instantly waived a ban on reproducing long-form birth certificates and copies were produced to be delivered to Judith Corley, a private attorney.

WND continues to report on multiple legal challenges to Obama over his status as a “natural born citizen.” The Constitution, Article 2, Section 1, states: “No Person except a natural born Citizen, or a Citizen of the United States, at the time of the Adoption of this Constitution, shall be eligible to the Office of President.”

Some of the lawsuits question whether Obama actually was born in Hawaii, as he insists. If he was born out of the country, Obama’s American mother, the suits contend, was too young at the time of his birth to confer American citizenship to her son under the law at the time.

Other challenges have focused on Obama’s citizenship through his father, a Kenyan subject to the jurisdiction of the United Kingdom at the time of his birth, thus making him a dual citizen. The cases contend the framers of the Constitution excluded dual citizens from qualifying as natural born.

Further, others contend it’s impossible for him to be considered a “natural born citizen” as his father was a foreign national.

Among the various campaigns raising questions about Obama’s past:

During the White House briefing today with Mr. Jay Carney, the same-old-same-old partisan bull dripped from his lips.  When asked about the reason behind the President using Executive Privilege, Carney responded by focusing on past Presidents and their use of Executive Privilege, as well as the number of times it was used, respectively.  When did it become acceptable to point to a past to excuse the present?  Telling House Republicans that Americans don’t care about Fast and Furious, is not only false, it’s a blatant lie.  Carney further claims that if Republicans cared about workers, they would pass something “tomorrow” to create jobs.  If that were possible, why was the House Minority stymied at every effort to get bills passed when the Democrats were the majority?  Does it hold that the Dems were using partisan politics then?  The point is that Carney looked and sounded like an idiot, as they all do, when they absurdly disregard their own past words  and actions to flip-flop to self-serving claims and accusations.   And with respect to this point, when will Congressmen, Congresswomen, and Senators grow the stuff it takes to ask pertinent questions of this Administration?  And when will they stop allowing themselves to be manipulated into defensive posturing when opposition brings up the past to excuse the present?  Anyhow, that’s what I wanted to know, but that’s

How the Election Is Being Rigged Before You Vote

posted on June 13, 2012 by

Read more:

It shouldn’t be any surprise, but the presidential election is shaping up as a case study in how to manipulate the democratic process.

The media have played a huge roll, of course, by manipulating Obama’s poll numbers, which seem to stay high despite numerous reports of his losing ground among various constituent groups.

Careful selection of the stories to downplay or ignore is also important. The Fast and Furious scandal, the presidential leak scandal, the almost complete ignoring of the Catholic Church’s battle with the administration, the proof that President Obama was a dues-paying member of the socialist New Party, the ongoing coverup of Obama’s past — the list is long and getting longer every day.

But there are deeper manipulations going on.

Back in April, Donald Trump posted a video in which he said he believes Obama has struck a secret deal with the Saudis to flood the market with oil and drastically lower the price of gasoline before November to help him win re-election. Just this week, a report showed falling energy prices pulling down retail sales figures.

The smart money says Trump is right on. Back when Obama ran against McCain, we saw the same pattern of gasoline rising to outrageous levels, which was blamed on Republicans, then it plunged right before the election, once Obama’s economic stimulus plans became the talk of the media. At the time, the high prices were blamed on Saudi manipulation.

Obama has a long-standing connection to the Saudi royal family that goes back at least to his college days when Saudi family fixer Khalid al-Mansour was soliciting letters of recommendation to help get Obama into Harvard.

Trump warns that if Obama is re-elected, we can expect oil prices rising beyond any level ever seen as payback for the Saudis’ favor.

There (are) also suggestions that the Democrats are setting up a Bush-Gore-style recount showdown on election night.

ABC News has already run a story speculating that such a face-off could happen again, based on those manipulated poll numbers.

There is a widespread Internet rumor that a Spanish company called Scytl bought a company, SOE, that will be counting the presidential votes in Florida, and that Scytl is owned by billionaire puppet master George Soros. Liberal talking box Media Matters — which itself has been funded by Soros — and other propaganda outlets have been doing backflips to deny that Soros owns Scytl.

Still, the rumors persist, and you have to wonder why the media would be speculating about another recount months before we even get to the election. Just wishful thinking?

On Tuesday, the Department of Justice sued the state of Florida to prevent it from purging ineligible voters from its rolls.

Can we connect the dots yet?

Obama’s public sector full employment plan

By: Ann Coulter

6/13/2012 05:01 PM

Last week, President Obama said “the private sector is doing fine.” This was not reassuring to those of us who suspect the Democrats haven’t the first idea what “private sector” means.

He did not help matters by becoming lachrymose over the suffering of public sector employees: “Where we’re seeing weaknesses in our economy have to do with state and local government. … And so, if Republicans want to be helpful, if they really want to move forward and put people back to work, what they should be thinking about is, how do we help state and local governments …”

When Democrats say the public sector is suffering, they mean public sector employees have half the unemployment rate of the rest of the country — 4.2 percent compared to 8.2 percent.

Obama’s monumentally idiotic statement has led his media defenders to recycle Mitt Romney’s alleged “gaffe” from several months ago, when he said: “I like being able to fire people who provide services to me.”

But that was not a gaffe at all — except as deceptively edited by the media to end after the word “people.” (Only Donald Trump enjoys firing people, and by the way, people love watching Donald Trump fire people.)

Far from a gaffe, Romney’s actual sentence is the key to understanding the nation’s health care crisis — which happens to be exactly what he was talking about.

Nearly every product you can think of has gotten better and cheaper in the last 20 years because of market competition: cell phones, television sets, computers, food delivery, airline tickets (constrained by the cost of fuel), express mail, and on and on.

There aren’t a lot of restaurants serving lousy food or dog walkers who lose your dog because they’d go out of business pretty fast if they provided rotten services. They’re not the only game in town.

But you know what is the only game in town? The government, including putatively private businesses that are heavily regulated by the government. Only with the government do we continuously get worse service for a higher price.

Take away the ability to fire people, and you have airport security, public schools, Veterans Administration hospitals, the Postal Service, General Motors and Pinch Sulzberger, New York Times family scion.

Health insurers may technically be private companies, but they are required by law to cover a slew of services, making them an extension of monopolistic government. (Similarly, the old AT&T was a “private” company, but in reality it was just a government-run monopolistic phone company providing no choice, poor service, little innovation and obscenely high prices.)

In most states, you can’t choose a health insurance plan that doesn’t cover gambling and sex addictions, psychological counseling, speech therapy and prenatal care — even if you plan on never having children.

Health insurance companies don’t need to compete for your business — they’re all offering the same product, anyway. Moreover, because of government regulation concerning how health insurance is taxed, most people aren’t choosing their insurers. Their employers are.

As a result, insurance companies have become outrageously unresponsive to both patients and doctors. Insurance companies need only concern themselves with satisfying government regulators and corporate purchasers. Meanwhile, doctors have to please only the insurance companies, which don’t particularly care how patients are treated, as long as it’s cheap.

This is a third-party-payer problem, or as the proverb goes, “He who pays the piper calls the tune.” All third-party-payer systems are disasters. The customer is trapped, forced to pay for something he doesn’t want, with no one to complain to and no possibility of taking his business elsewhere.

An example frequent travelers will recognize are the online discount hotel brokers. These can be great — unless you arrive at a hotel and there’s no WiFi, or there’s massive construction going on, or your room isn’t available until four hours after check-in time. But you’ve already paid the full price to the booking company.

If you had paid for the room yourself, you could walk away and find another hotel. (Even if you used a credit card, you can reverse the charges because, again, credit card companies would go out of business if they didn’t refuse payment for scams.) But if you booked through a third party, the hotel tells you, “Sorry, take it up with Expedia.”

Ironically, Romney is proposing that all Americans have the same ability he has to hire and fire insurance companies and doctors. The rich already can do this. Why can’t the rest of us? We hire — and fire — our own appliance stores, pet groomers, restaurants, hairdressers and computer companies. Why not health providers?

And why are the media so desperate to avoid that conversation?

We need a free market in health insurance, which Congress could accomplish with a one-page bill stating, “There shall be interstate commerce in health insurance.” Once we were allowed to purchase health insurance across states lines — prohibited by law today — everyone would be buying insurance from companies based in states such as Utah, which have the fewest mandates about what health insurers must cover.

Insurance companies would be responsive to us, the people buying their services, and not the government or corporations. Most people would choose to buy insurance only for what insurance is intended for — catastrophes — while paying for regular checkups themselves, the same way we pay for our own cell phones, computers, baby sitters, manicures and everything else that’s been getting better and cheaper, unlike all government-regulated services.

Doctors would then have to be responsive to us, not to our insurance companies. Nothing improves the quality of a service like being able to fire the people providing it. The media don’t want you to think about that, so they edit Romney’s remark and call it a “gaffe.”

For better service right now, for example, the American people need to fire Barack Obama and hire Mitt Romney.
