BLACKS ARE “LESS SOPHISTICATED VOTERS” by J. CHRISTIAN ADAMS, BREITBART BIG GOVERNMENT

MY TWO SENSE

BLACKS TOO STUPID TO PROCURE VOTER ID-BLACKS LESS EVOLVED THAN OTHER RACES: It’s the same old argument from closeted racists (I’m weary of the term)! Can you imagine what explosions would occur if a Conservative had said such a thing? Of course, you can. The fact is; now listen up black folk and other lower forms of life, if the Democrats did not firmly believe that the ruling elite are superior to black, and other minorities, and more intelligent than everyone else they would not continue to push for minority dependence upon big government. That dependence solves two problems: One-it creates a firm voting bloc for the Democrats because it creates real dependence upon the government for food and shelter (and cell phones), and Two-it allows the Democrats to wave those dependents, like flags reading, “WE CARE & REPUBLICANS DON’T!

Obama’s Executive Orders reflect a dangerous dictator at the helm of our sinking ship.  His EO’s include illegal immigrants serving in the United States military, while returning American citizen-soldiers are being “pink-slipped.”  Furthermore, more than 11 million illegals are getting “processed” for visas and work permits, in the dark and without notice to the American people.   The People of the United States are jeopardizing everything we hold dear simply by doing nothing.   The illegal immigrant army is the civilian army Obama envisioned when he talked about the US needing more that just the military and the local police.  It is not difficult to imagine why a Totalitarian despot needs a secret police . . I mean a Gestapo, uh . . .uh. . . a CIVILIAN ARMY!  Personally, I never thought I’d live to see this day, but it is here!

As a country, with independent states, we must stand up and push our respective local governments to protect our states from federal overreaches.  Obama’s federal government will not to hear the People, and in some cases, such as Missouri, local governments are deaf, as well, in some districts.  Corrupt Senators, Representatives, and Governors, throughout the country, plague and suppress the People.  How did we get here, and how do we get the hell out of here?

Justice Department Expert Witness: Blacks ‘Less Sophisticated Voters’

An expert witness paid with tax dollars by the United States Department of Justice testified that North Carolina election laws impact black voters disproportionately and that blacks are less sophisticated.

Charles Stewart, a political scientist was retained by the Justice Department to testify against voter identification laws and other election integrity measures.  His testimony argued that ending same day voter registration and requiring voters to vote in the precinct where they live constitutes racial discrimination.

When asked if terminating the ability to register to vote on the day that someone casts a ballot impacts blacks disproportionately, Stewart testified in court that it did. Stewart:

It’s also the case that — well, yes, so it would, empirically more likely affect African Americans. Also, understanding within political science, that people who register to vote the closer and closer one gets to Election Day tend to be less sophisticated voters, tend to be less educated voters, tend to be voters who are less attuned to public affairs. That also tells me from the literature of political science that there are likely to be people who will end up not registering and not voting. People who correspond to those factors tend to be African Americans, and, therefore, that’s another vehicle through which African Americans would be disproportionately affected by this law.

Blacks tend to be less sophisticated, less educated, and lower information voters, according to a taxpayer-funded Justice Department expert.  Experts for the Voting Section of the United States routinely make tens of thousands of dollars for this sort of expert testimony, if not hundreds of thousands of dollars.

When asked if ending the ability to register to vote at the same time one casts a ballot would harm blacks more, Stewart testified:

As I said before, this is particularly a mechanism and a time that’s well situated for less sophisticated voters, and, therefore, it’s less likely to imagine that these voters would — can figure out or would avail themselves of other forms of registering and voting.

EMAIL LETTER FROM TED CRUZ

A LETTER FROM TED CRUZ

Dear Xxxxxxxxx,

A year ago today, we began an effort to #MakeDCListen. I went to the Senate floor to warn of the tremendous harms Obamacare would cause and urge Congress to do something about it. You went to Facebook, to Twitter, or even to your neighbors to speak the truth.

As a result of that fight, millions of Americans rose up and demanded we stop the disaster that is Obamacare. Together, we elevated the national debate. And now, the misguided healthcare law is more unpopular than ever.

Even though that fight was largely about Obamacare, fundamentally, it was about something much more important. It was about giving a voice to the American people — whose concerns have been ignored by DC politicians for far too long.

Xxxxxxxxx, we are just 41 days away from another terrific opportunity to #MakeDCListen: the election where we take back the United States Senate and retire Harry Reid as Majority Leader.

Together, we can and will do it. Are you in? Can we count on your support with a contribution of $25, $50, $100, $250, or more right now so we have the resources we need to take back the Senate?

For Liberty,

Ted Cruz

P.S. One year ago I was proud to stand on the Senate floor and help provide a voice for millions of Americans. Let’s ensure that this November, Washington, DC, hears us all again. Please help us take back the Senate and retire Majority Leader Harry Reid with a contribution right now.

Paid for by the Ted Cruz Victory Committee, a joint fundraising committee authorized by and composed of Ted Cruz for Senate and the Jobs, Growth, and Freedom Fund.

UNITED STATES FREEDOM ARMY EMAIL: WEBSITE(http://www.usfreedomarmy.com/constitutional-freedom-march/)

UNITED STATES FREEDOM ARMY

END OF MONTH REPORT AS OF 08/31/2014

 CONSTITUTIONAL FREEDOM MARCH

“A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step.”

“The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing.”

“When your children and grandchildren ask you what happened to America make sure you can say ‘I tried my best to stop it’.”

“An excuse is an explanation of failure.”

“Do not ask for whom the bell tolls, it tolls for thee.”

________________________________________

MARCH ON WASHINGTON D.C.:  NO WEAPONS AT THE MUSTER POINT OR THEREAFTER.

This is our last appeal.  Anyone and everyone who will be attending and has not informed us – we need to know now.  The March has changed.  There will no longer be a specified route for the Cross Country March.

We will hold the specified route concept in abeyance until next year when it will be reevaluated. For a variety of reasons we are cancelling the specified route for the March and each person will be responsible for getting to the Muster Point in their own way. You may construct your own March, you may fly in to D.C., take your RV or develop any scenario you so desire to reach the Muster Point to meet on September 17, 2014 (Constitution Day).

NO WEAPONS AT THE MUSTER POINT OR THEREAFTER.

The Muster Point this year will be the Springfield Mall in Springfield, VA. We will meet from 8:30 A.M. to 9:30 A.M. at the Muster Point. We will then travel from there by METRO to the Capitol. The Springfield Mall is very close to the intersection of I-95 and I-495. The Springfield Mall is bounded on the North by Franconia Road E., on the East by Frontier Road, on the South by Spring Mall Rd., and on the West by Loisdale Road. We will meet on the South section of the mall on Spring Mall Rd. about halfway between Loisdale Road and Frontier Road. From the Southeast corner of the Springfield Mall it is only about ¼ mile to the METRO Franconia-Springfield Station from where we will take the BLUE Line getting off at the METRO L’Enfant  Station and walking four blocks to the meeting point. It is almost impossible to park in D.C. on a weekday and even if you can find a place it will cost you $50 to $60 to park whereas the METRO station parking is $4.75. The total cost to park and ride the METRO round trip will be about $15.

There are no public restrooms (except for emergencies) on the METRO trains or in the METRO stations. When we get to the meeting point there will be restrooms available. You have been warned! Take precautions as necessary. There is a restaurant near the Comfort Inn off Loisdale Road that serves breakfast and has restrooms. There is also a restaurant just off Franconia Road E. in the Springfield Mall.

The METRO ride to the Capitol takes about 30 minutes. We will meet on the lawn between the Capitol and the Washington Monument and directly across from the Air and Space Museum on that side of the lawn.

There are hotels/motels on Loisdale Road near the Northwest portion of the Springfield Mall. They are the Hilton Hotel, Hampton Inn, Comfort Inn and the Courtyard Marriott. The Marriott is slightly farther than the others and is near the intersection of Loisdale Road and Franconia Road W. Those of you who fly in to Reagan Airport and do not wish to rent a car may get on the Blue Line at Reagan Airport and go to the Franconia-Springfield Station and walk to one of the hotels/motels mentioned above. The walk is about ½ mile. Reservations suggested.

Dress and act like the fine patriotic people you are. If you wish to wear military apparel that is fine. If you are active duty military get permission from your commander before wearing any active duty military apparel.

NO WEAPONS AT THE MUSTER POINT OR THEREAFTER.

We are planning on making this an annual event. Be thinking of how we can get some publicity, local news coverage, TV, or whatever. Anyone may participate in this march and they do not have to be enlisted with us. We will leave the Capitol at approximately 6:00 P.M. and return to the Muster Point. At approximately 7:00 P.M. we will meet for dinner at a location near the Muster Point to be announced on September 17.

We need people to be at the Muster Point so we can go to Washington D.C. and make our complaints clear.  Did you read the five quotes at the top of this report? If not, read them again. This is the time. We especially need the people from VA, MD, DE, WV, TN, NC and other nearby states to come help us on September 17. Bring any like-minded people you know with you – the more people we have the more government areas we can cover. We need to cover the Congress, Supreme Court, the IRS and as many Executive Branch offices as we can. There is no need to go to the White House since it will not do any good.

Respond to presidentialdiary@gmail.com if you are planning to attend.

We need patriots in Washington, D.C. on September 17.

If you absolutely cannot come, we need you to pass out flyers in your local area on September 17. If you cannot pass them out on September 17 pass them out as closely as you possibly can to September 17. The best place to pass them out is at your nearest military installation – we need to remind our military of their oath. If you cannot get to a military installation pass them out at your local federal government offices. IRS offices or any federal court is good. Find a federal government agency near you and pass them out. As a last resort go to your local Post Office and pass them out. Before you go to any of these federal government entities make sure you do some reconnaissance and find out what the rules are. We want to do all of this in a perfectly legal manner and we want to pass these flyers out all over the nation.

Some of you are disappointed because we are only passing out flyers. This is what we can do at this time. If it helps you to visualize this look at the flyer as your weapon, look at the words on the flyer as your ammunition, and look at the work in D.C. as maneuvers and reconnaissance.

The flyers are extremely important to what we are attempting to accomplish. The first step is to make crystal clear what your complaint consists of in the shortest possible way. Anything over one page is too long and no one will read it. It must be short and to the point. During Operation American Spring they passed out large packets with volumes of information inside. No one will read that much information unless they are being paid to do so. We want a short printed record of our position that cannot be misunderstood.

Let us know as soon as possible if you will be coming to the Muster Point and how many you will be bringing. People do not have to be enlisted to participate.

RECRUITING UPDATE AS OF 8/31/2014:

As many of you know, we are spending our first year only recruiting. We will never stop recruiting of course, but we will have other objectives in addition to recruiting after our first year.  This web site was launched on September 17 (Constitution Day), 2013 and we started recruiting about 5 days later.

TX still leads in total recruits with 10.4% of all recruits. Following TX is CA (8.0%) FL (7.2%) NC (4.2%) GA (3.8%) PA (3.4%) TN (3.3%) NY (3.3%). CA and PA both had a good month.

Based upon state population for states with over two million in population the top eight are:  TN MS AL NV SC NC OK KY. OK and KY both had a good showing in August. States with under two million in population are led by WY, NH, ME, ID and NE.

This paragraph is not statistically accurate and is an approximation since some of our enlistees do not give us complete information. Our female enlistees are staying at about 4 out of every 10. About 45% of all enlistees (including some female) have military experience. We have every military grade from E-1 to E-9, W1 to W4, and O-1 to O-7. We have military with Silver Stars, Bronze Stars and Purple Hearts. We have military with all types of training and awards. Of all enlistees about 65% are in the age category 40-60. About 20% are over 60 and about 15% are under 40. Our over 60 people increased in August. We had several people enlist in August who were born in the 40s and early 50s with military experience – these are almost all Vietnam veterans. This is why we increased our over 60 percentage from 15% to 20%. We also had some younger people enlist in August and that is encouraging.

Recruiting in Nov. 2013 exceeded Oct. 2013 by 24%. Recruiting in Dec. 2013 exceeded Nov. 2013 by 43%. Recruiting in Jan. 2014 exceeded Dec. 2013 by 97%. January enlistees reached 95% of all the previous months combined. Jan. 2014 was a huge month. In February, due to various technical problems, we were only able to recruit for 18 of the 28 days. It is therefore unfair to compare February to any other month. Still, in February and despite all the setbacks, we exceeded our recruiting totals for every other previous month except January 2014 – those results were extremely encouraging. March 2014 was our seventh largest recruiting month. April 2014 was our third largest recruiting month. May 2014 was our sixth largest recruiting month. June 2014 was our fourth largest recruiting month almost reaching April 2014. We are extremely encouraged by the May and June results since often in late May and early June people will not participate due to graduations, vacations and weddings. July 2014 was our largest recruiting month topping January 2014 by 20%. July 3, 4, 5 were our 4th, 5th, and 3rd largest recruiting days ever as the patriotic spirit was kindled by Independence Day. August, in spite of several minor technical problems that hampered us parts of the entire month, was our fifth largest recruiting month just missing June.

During the first five full months after September 2013 we had already surpassed our recruiting goal for the entire first year. Thank you to each one of you for your courage and patriotism. We do not give out strength reports but we can tell everyone that our total strength is >1,000 and <10,000.

We are now in all 50 states, and 11 other countries. We also have enlistees in Washington, D.C. and Puerto Rico. Most of the people enlisted in other countries are Americans living outside the United States. We are like Washington’s Continental Army, however, in the sense that we will welcome help from anyone who is a patriot and wants to see our Constitution restored.

What is the most encouraging are the many people who have enlisted from small towns in America. This is a small town revolution – the people who have not been heard are beginning to speak up. While we have enlistees in many major cities, it is the voices in small town America that ring loudest. The Founder has been in all 50 states and has never heard of many of these cities so we have been looking them up on the Internet – impressive. Find the people in your small town who are fed up and get them enlisted and then form a unit in your town.

As a change of pace this month (and to see if you are paying attention) we have listed below the cities in each state that have the most people enlisted. Many of these are as expected but you will also find some surprises in the list.

Wasilla AK              Huntsville AL         Hot Springs AR         Phoenix AZ

San Diego CA         Denver CO             New Haven CT         Frankford DE

Jacksonville FL       Atlanta GA             Honolulu HI              Des Moines IA

Meridian ID            Chicago IL              Indianapolis IN        Wichita KS

Louisville KY           Shreveport LA       Boston MA               Baltimore MD

Portland ME           Lansing MI             St. Paul MN              St. Louis MO

Laurel MS               Butte MT                Raleigh NC               Richardton ND

Omaha NE             Concord NH           Toms River NJ          Albuquerque NM

Las Vegas NV         Rochester NY         Toledo OH                Tulsa OK

Portland OR           Philadelphia PA     Wakefield RI             Anderson SC

Rapid City SD         Nashville TN           San Antonio TX        Salt Lake City UT

Virginia Beach VA Plainfield VT           Spokane WA            Milwaukee WI

Princeton WV        Greybull WY

Notes: In the event of a tie we awarded it to the city with the smallest population. New York City, NY would have been the largest in NY except many people signed up by borough and we didn’t add all the boroughs together as one group.

CONSTITUTIONAL VIOLATIONS:

The United States Freedom Army is concerned about continuous constitutional violations in the five areas listed in the attached flyer. These violations are listed in their relative order of importance and are so long running and egregious they can no longer be condoned. The flyer attached to this report delineates these grievances. You may use it to make copies and pass it out at any meetings, at the VFW Hall, post it on billboards, give it to friends, or whatever you may decide.

NOTE: On September 17 we will be passing out these flyers in Washington, D.C. We need as many people there as possible so we can reach as many people as possible in the three branches of our federal government. We need to know as soon as possible how many people will be at the Muster Point on September 17. If you cannot participate with us in Washington D.C. we will have other things for you to do in your local area on that day. See the section above “Cross Country March on Washington D.C.” for more updated information.

We realize that the information in the note above will disappoint some people but it is the best we can do at this point in time given all the circumstances. We want to do the best we can to achieve distribution of our flyer and make the feelings of everyone regarding the abuse of the United States Constitution known.

The flyer itself has a camouflage background and a gold stripe but it was designed so it can be copied in either color or black & white. When copied in black & white it loses the camouflage and gold stripe but is still effective and is very inexpensive to copy in black & white. The words are what count and the words are what we wish to communicate.

PLEASE NOTE AGAIN: THE FLYER FOR YOUR USE IS IN THE LINK BELOW

———————————————————————–

NEW POST:

The website post this month will be about the Constitutional Freedom March. We want people who log on to the website to know that an event is taking place and to encourage them to enlist and participate.

——————————————————————————-

CONSTITUTION:

We support all efforts by any organization to “resurrect” the United States Constitution. Whenever we hear about any effort to restore the Constitution we will record it here.

——————————————————————————-

STATEMENT OF PURPOSE:

We are a group of people who want to see the United States Constitution followed and, by implication, this leviathan federal government dismantled. We intend to follow all laws and proceed peacefully to attempt to achieve this goal. This is the thrust of our effort at this time.

We are not at present a militia but circumstances in the future may alter that situation. What we do or become depends upon what occurs in Washington, D.C. and what occurs in D.C. may alter our goals and approach. Since we cannot see into the future it is not possible to say what may be required as time passes and events unfold.

THIS IS A REAL ARMY! WE ARE TOGETHER! THE CONSTITUTION HAS BEEN ABUSED AND IGNORED FOR TOO LONG! WE WANT ALL THREE BRANCHES OF THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT TO START READING IT!

YOU MAY FORWARD THIS EMAIL TO ANYONE YOU WISH.

UNITED STATES FREEDOM ARMY

WE SIGN IN BOLD LETTERS

MEDIA RESEARCH CENTER by L. BRENT BOZELL, III (Email sent to me)

Media Research Center. America's Media Watchdog

Please take a moment to read this important op-ed by Media Research Center Founder and President L. Brent Bozell, III.

MEDIA CENSOR SOROS CONNECTION TO PERRY INDICTMENT

By L. Brent Bozell, III

On January 27, 1998, then First Lady Hillary Clinton – without a shred of credible evidence – infamously claimed during an NBC Today interview with Matt Lauer that a “vast right-wing conspiracy” had been working to destroy her husband “since the day he announced for president.”

Sixteen years later we have tangible, documented proof that a vast left-wing conspiracy is in fact out to destroy conservative presidential hopeful Gov. Rick Perry, and the liberals who run the establishment media are doing everything possible to cover it up.

(Sign our Tell The Truth 2014 petition and tell the liberal media to speak up about the Soros’ connection in the Perry indictment.)

The alleged wrongdoing by Gov. Perry is a farce and the indictment a brazen political abuse, denounced by conservatives and liberals, Republicans and Democrats alike. Who is behind this outrage?

According to a Media Research Center analysis, from the moment Perry was indicted on two flimsy counts by a Travis County, Texas grand jury on August 15 through the morning of August 20, the Big Three broadcast networks – ABC, CBS, and NBC – have run 24 stories totaling 38 minutes and 34 seconds across their morning and evening broadcasts. In all that coverage, not one single story mentioned that the group responsible for filing the complaint against Perry in June, Texans for Public Justice (TPJ), is part of a “progressive” coalition that has received $500,000 in funding from prolific left-wing billionaire George Soros.

Imagine for a moment that Maryland Gov. Martin O’Malley – another presumed presidential hopeful, but a Democrat – was indicted in similarly obvious political ploy, and the group responsible for that indictment had received a half million dollars from those awful Koch brothers. Every single story on ABC, CBS, and NBC would make that connection while the liberal media machine would rain fire and brimstone across the land, claiming an all-out assault by the “extreme Right” on the sanctity of our electoral system. Forests would be slashed to the ground to print the endless string of liberal columns denouncing the evils of conservative money in politics.

(Do NOT let the liberal media get away with this one! Sign the petition and EXPOSE the Soros connection in the Perry indictment.)

I wasn’t in the least bit surprised to learn the Soros machine’s fingerprints were all over this brazen, partisan ploy. It’s what they do. It’s a clear effort to undermine and circumvent the political process and yet the media refuse to divulge his role. Not one reporter, on any program, could find the time to report this as part of the Perry story – never mind this being its own story? This is deliberate censorship.

Any mention of Soros-funded TPJ is almost as difficult to find. Of the Big Three, only ABC named the organization during Monday’s World News broadcast and made no mention of the Soros connection. Switch to cable, and TPJ remains almost entirely anonymous with the exception of the inevitable positive shout-out from MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow lauding the group for spurring the bogus two-count indictment.

CNN mentioned the group a handful of times, but never made the Soros connection. On Saturday’s New Day, correspondent Peter Hamby referred to TPJ only as “a left-leaning watchdog group.” The next morning Mary Maloney, on the same program, reported the story saying, “The corruption charges stem from a complaint filed by Texans for Public Justice, a public interest group.” Later that morning on State of the Union, an infographic stated, “”Texans for Public Justice identifies itself as a non-partisan watchdog group.” A second box a moment later clarified, “Some consider Texans for Public Justice to be a left-leaning group.” At no point was TPJ’s benefactor mentioned.

The media’s double standard in covering a story such as this misleads and misinforms the very public it claims to serve. In this case, the media have gone beyond mere bias and are complicit in the Soros machine’s scheme to take down a conservative leader.

As always thank you for your support. Please take a minute and consider signing our Tell The Truth petition urging the liberal media to reveal liberal billionaire George Soros’ role in Perry’s indictment.

Forget Obama’s dribble; you’ll want to read this US Marine veteran’s powerful response to beheading!

As Obama continues to bounce the ball meaninglessly all over the court, leave it to a US soldier to get a slam dunk!

A Marine Corps veteran sent an unmistakable message this week, via social media, to the “cowardly” Islamic State terrorists in the Middle East:  ”You attack us and there will be no mercy. We will bring the righteous hand of God down upon you and crush you. ”

The powerful post has gone viral and was reportedly written by Nick Powers, identified as a Marine vet who served in Iraq by American Live Wire, in response to the beheading of American journalist James Foley.

“To all you ignorant Islamic extremist f**ks. As I sit here constantly hearing and watching you execute innocent men, women and children in the Middle East I chuckle. Why do I chuckle you may ask? Well let me explain something to you cowardice fools who think you are so tough behind all your propaganda videos. You are scaring a population that doesn’t know how to fight, you’re bullying the weak. You say Islam is the religion of peace, but since when does terrorizing the innocent and beheading men, women and children constitute peace? WTF? But keep in mind, what did Saddam’s troops do when we came rolling into town? They surrendered, twice… So all your empty threats of coming to America and raising your flag over the White House amuse me more than any of you sick, sadistic bastards could ever imagine or comprehend. In 2012 there was about 21.2 million veterans in the United States. Do you understand what that means? Let me break it down for you. That means there are literally millions of disgruntled, dysfunctional, pissed off veterans who have been dealing with years of abuse from their government stabbing them in the backs and having to watch their friends die because you Islamic extremist idiots can’t seem to act like normal human beings and stop terrorism and the violence. It’s one thing to take over an Islamic state, but if my memory serves me correctly, I’m pretty sure we plowed through Fallujah in 4 days. Better yet, it took us about month to control your entire country. At this point, with 13+ years of war under our belts, how long do you think it would take us to do it all over again? I’ll let you draw your own conclusions on that one. Do you really think you stand a chance on US soil? Do you really think it would be smart to poke that bear? Remember, never bite the hand that feeds you. Remember we are armed to the teeth in the US and I can promise you this… the Geneva Conventions will not apply to you. You attack us and there will be no mercy. We will bring the righteous hand of God down upon you and crush you. The ball is in your court now ISIS. We are more than ready to arrange your so called “meeting” with your 72 virgins and send you to your “prophet” Mohamed.”

– Nick Powers

UPDATE: To all who read this and assume this is against all Muslims, I am sorry you are too blind to read, this isn’t against Muslims in general. If you feel otherwise I suggest you look at yourself in the mirror and ask yourself one question, am I an extremist? You say Islam is the religion of peace, since when does terrorizing the innocent (beheading women and children, wtf?) mean peace? This is directed at all extremist, if this offends/makes you angry or think I am racist you are are probably an extremist…

* BPR has not independently verified the origination of the viral post or information on Powers’ military service.

MY TWO SENSE

Nick, you are one of the bravest patriots I’ve had the honor of knowing exists in this troubled nation.  Bless you and yours, and thank you from our hearts for your service and sacrifices.  You have absolutely no need to qualify your statement regarding your intentions and the identities of those you do not include.  We have become a nation of apologists for no good reason, and we’re following this weak president and his hate-filled, administration.  Those people are pushing and striving for a utopian planet of ruling elite and enslaved everyone else.  The “utopia” is for them.

All of the kowtowing to anything in a sheet, or with a tan, has got to end as does the explaining, “I didn’t mean you,” as they will continue to stand in line, and remain perpetually offended by the way the wind blows.  You are absolutely right, Nick, in everything you said!  Don’t let anyone shut you down!

President Obama on Martha’s Vineyard on Wednesday. Republicans and Democrats have said his vacation is ill timed. Credit Steven Senne/Associated Press

WASHINGTON — He had just hung up the telephone with the devastated parents before heading in front of the cameras. Unusually emotional, President Obama declared himself “heartbroken” by the brutal murder of an American journalist, James Foley, and vowed to “be relentless” against Islamic radicals threatening to kill another American.

But as soon as the cameras went off, Mr. Obama headed to his favorite golf course on Martha’s Vineyard, where he is on vacation, seemingly able to put the savagery out of his mind. He spent the rest of the afternoon on the links even as a firestorm of criticism erupted over what many saw as a callous indifference to the slaughter he had just condemned.

http://www.nytimes.com/2014/08/22/us/politics/a-terrorist-horror-then-golf-incongruity-fuels-obama-critics.html?_r=14

Presidents learn to wall off their feelings and compartmentalize their lives. They deal in death one moment and seek mental and physical relief the next. To make coldhearted decisions in the best interest of the country and manage the burdens of perhaps the most stressful job on the planet, current and former White House officials said, a president must guard against becoming consumed by the emotions of the situations they confront. And few presidents have been known more for cool, emotional detachment than Mr. Obama.

Video:http://www.nytimes.com/2014/08/22/us/politics/a-terrorist-horror-then-golf-incongruity-fuels-obama-critics.html?_r=1

Yet the juxtaposition of his indignant denunciation of terrorists and his outing on the greens this week underscored the unintended consequences of such a remove. If Mr. Obama hoped to show America’s enemies that they cannot hijack his schedule, he also showed many of his friends in America that he disdains the politics of appearance. He long ago stopped worrying about what critics say, according to aides, and after the outcry over Wednesday’s game, he defied the critics by golfing again on Thursday, his eighth outing in 11 days on the island.

It was all the more striking given that Prime Minister David Cameron of Britain canceled his vacation after the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria released the video showing Mr. Foley’s death because the accent of the masked killer suggested he came from Britain. Former Vice President Dick Cheney told Fox News that Mr. Obama would “rather be on the golf course than he would be dealing with the crisis.”

But the criticism went beyond the usual political opponents. Privately, many Democrats shook their heads at what they considered a judgment error. Ezra Klein, editor in chief of the online news site Vox, who is normally sympathetic to Mr. Obama, wrote on Twitter on Wednesday that “golfing today is in bad taste.” The Daily News published a front-page photograph of a grinning president in a golf cart next to a picture of Mr. Foley’s distraught mother and father under the headline, “Prez tees off as Foley’s parents grieve.”

“As a general rule, I think that he’s right that you can’t be held hostage to the news cycle — the man deserves a bit of downtime,” said Jim Manley, a longtime Democratic strategist. “But in this particular instance, I think a lot of Democrats flinched a little bit.”

The video, Mr. Manley added, “was just so shocking that the idea that he was going to immediately run to the golf course was just a little too much for folks; it was tone-deaf.”

Mr. Obama has traditionally resisted what he sees as the empty political gesture of abruptly upending his schedule in reaction to the latest crisis. Aides said the golf game did not reflect the depth of his grief over Mr. Foley, noting that the president had just spoken with his parents that morning. “His concern for the Foleys and Jim was evident to all who saw and heard his statement,” said Jennifer Palmieri, the White House communications director.

Mr. Obama is not the first president to get in trouble with a golf club in hand. On the course one day in 2002, President George W. Bush delivered a tough-worded statement denouncing a suicide bombing in Israel and then, barely missing a beat, told reporters, “Now, watch this drive.” Mr. Bush later concluded that such scenes sent a bad message, and in the fall of 2003, with the Iraq war raging, he gave up golf for the remainder of his presidency.

What really matters, according to Mr. Obama’s defenders, is not what the president does to blow off steam, but what he does to blow up ISIS. Aides to Republican and Democratic presidents have long argued that the commander in chief is on duty no matter where he is, and that even on vacation, he is receiving briefings, making phone calls and issuing orders. Other presidents have taken vacations during major crises and times of war. This year Mr. Obama has repeatedly interrupted his summer break to deal with Iraq and the racial unrest in Ferguson, Mo.

For Mr. Obama, the video of Mr. Foley’s death is acutely personal because it showed one of three other American civilians held hostage, Steven J. Sotloff, suggesting he would be killed next if the president did not stop bombing ISIS targets in Iraq. “The life of this American citizen, Obama, depends on your next decision,” the masked killer says while holding the back of Mr. Sotloff’s orange, prison-style shirt.

There could hardly be many more wrenching situations for a president. Sending American troops into harm’s way is difficult enough, but they at least volunteered for duty and are trained for the dangers they confront. The rise of social media has made such life-or-death blackmail all the more horrific. As far as aides knew, Mr. Obama did not watch the ISIS video, and advisers did not think he should.

“That’s got to be exquisitely disturbing,” said Peter D. Feaver, a former national security aide to Mr. Bush and President Bill Clinton, who now teaches at Duke University. “And it’s different than for average Americans who are watching this on television but know there’s nothing they can do. With President Obama, there are things he can do, but he’s concluded that he can’t do them.”

Bruce Hoffman, a terrorism expert at Georgetown University, said ISIS appeared to design its video to instill maximum fear in Mr. Obama and a country it perceives as exhausted by war. Mr. Obama’s forceful response on Wednesday, he said, was “a necessary and important one — that we’re not being intimidated, we’re not backing down.”

Including Mr. Sotloff in the video, Mr. Hoffman added, intensified the direct threat the group was sending the president. “They put the knife in, and they’re trying to twist it by making it personal,” he said.

Former presidents have been the subject of personal appeals from terrorists threatening American lives, from the Iran Embassy seizure under Jimmy Carter to the hijackings of T.W.A. Flight 847 and the Achille Lauro cruise ship under Ronald Reagan.

Mr. Obama, too, has faced this situation before. Warren Weinstein, an American development consultant abducted by Al Qaeda in Pakistan, appealed directly to the president in a video late last year. In May, Mr. Obama authorized a prisoner swap with the Taliban to secure the release of Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl after concluding that his life was at risk.

Frances Fragos Townsend, a former counterterrorism adviser to Mr. Bush, said it is important to avoid letting the president become too emotionally involved in such situations, adding that she would not have shown the ISIS video to Mr. Obama. “You fight very hard to not have it be personal,” she said. “You just don’t let them do that. They can use your name, and they can make it personal. But it’s not.”

BRIETBART BIG GOVERNMENT by CHARLIE SPIERING (http://www.breitbart.com/Big-Government/2014/08/09/Ted-Cruz-ISIS-is-the-Face-Of-Evil)

MY TWO SENSE

Senator Cruz cannot possibly think Obama is naive or inexperienced, causing him to view ISIS as “varsity.” Obama downplays the threat of his pawns in order to perpetuate a belief that he is simply inexperienced or cowardly. Obama pawns, such as the Muslim Brotherhood, ISAS, Hamas, et al, are being used to bring about his “fundamental transformation” of America and liberty wherever it exists in this world. Underestimating Obama, and misreading him, is extremely dangerous. Not accepting that Obama is as evil, or worse than, our greatest threats, is to lose the fight to regain our country. Everything becomes too little-too late. Senator Cruz must pretend that he finds Obama to be a nitwit because his position doesn’t allow a truthful approach-not at this time. If we are to raise grandchildren in a land of exceptionalism, we must place Senator Ted Cruz, and others like him, in political office to lead with integrity and honor. These characteristics are virtually non-existent in the present local and federal governments. No greater proof is needed to support what I say than the White House knee-jerk responses to racial tensions, the unrecognized beheading, and crucifixion, of Christians in the Middle East, the number of entitlements this first family has taken from tax payers, and the ever-increasing welfare roles which are now overwhelmingly burdening our society. Obama knows what he does. STOP HIM!

Ted Cruz: ISIS is the Face of Evil

Sen. Ted Cruz responded to President Obama’s statement on Iraq on Saturday, criticizing him for failing to properly address the threat posed by ISIS.

“Sadly what’s happening in Iraq is the latest manifestation of the failures of the Obama/Clinton foreign policy,” Cruz said, pointing out that since Obama took power, America’s leadership has receded.

Cruz spoke at length about the crisis in Iraq with reporters following his appearance at the Faith Leadership Summit in Iowa.

“What ISIS is doing in Iraq is unspeakable; ISIS is the face of evil,” Cruz said. “ISIS right now is crucifying Christians in Iraq. Crucifixion is not something that just occurred 2000 years ago; they are doing it right now today. ISIS is beheading children who are Christians in Iraq.”

Cruz suggested that the United States acting militarily to thwart the terrorist threat posed by ISIS was a worthy goal, but that Obama should make the case.

“ISIS right now is fighting with U.S. weaponry, with Abrams tanks from America that they seized,” he said.

Cruz reminded that the leaders of ISIS were so extreme they were thrown out of Al Qaeda.

“That says something,” he said. “That’s not easy to do,”

Cruz added that he was glad that President Obama had decided to take the threat of ISIS seriously, pointing out that Obama dismissed them earlier this year as “Junior Varsity.”

“The president’s foreign policy team utterly missed the threat of ISIS, indeed, was working to arm Syrian rebels that were fighting side by side with ISIS.”

America needed to remain vigilant, Cruz said, to avoid a hostage situation, or a situation where Americans in Iraq were put in danger.

Obama’s demands for a political solution in Iraq were naive, Cruz suggested, pointing out that the Sunni and Shite factions in the country were clearly divided. He added that he was concerned that Obama was acting out of political motivation.

“History has taught us that America gets in trouble in military engagements when we get involved on the whims of politicians, without a clearly defined objective.” Cruz said.

MY TWO SENSE

Let’s all pray that the named police officer remains safe from harm and as well protected as police would protect Michael Brown had he succeeded in his efforts to kill that officer.  Brown was shot and killed after stealing from Quick Trip and assaulting police officer as he tried to take the officer’s weapon away from him.

FERGUSON, Mo. (KMOX) – Following this morning’s release of the name of the Ferguson police officer who fatally shot 18-year-old Michael Brown, Highway Patrol Capt. Ron Johnson answered questions from the press.

Johnson said Highway Patrol is not involved in the shooting investigation, and is only tasked by Gov. Jay Nixon with security.

“He wants to make sure that people in Ferguson are safe and have the right to speak their mind, and that’s what we’re tasked to do,” Johnson said.

Johnson said he would have liked Ferguson police to consult with him before releasing the name of the officer this morning. Johnson saw it on news. He said that the release of the name was requested by the community.

Johnson also said that no tear gas was used against protestors in Ferguson on Thursday, and that “last night was a great night.”

TIMELINE: The Death of Michael Brown and Unrest in Ferguson

“In our anger, we have to make sure that we don’t burn down our own house,” Johnson said.

“This is not a black and white issue,” he said. “We all have sons and daughters. We all have to communicate better.”

TOWNHALL.COM: ROBIN WILLIAMS-COMEDY AND TRAGEDY by CAL THOMAS

Cal Thomas

Robin Williams made me cry. Like his mentor, the late Jonathan Winters, Williams, who committed suicide Monday, made me laugh so intensely tears would come to my eyes.

Williams’ death made headlines and led TV newscasts. His comedic genius diverted us from stories about terrorism and other sadness in the world. That’s what comedy does. It makes us forget our troubles — national, international and personal — and for a moment, embrace happiness.

Williams, who seemed full of joy on the outside, was apparently tormented on the inside. He suffered from clinical depression. An estimated 19 million Americans suffer from depression, according to the Mayo Clinicwebsite(sic). He may have tried to conquer it in the ’70s and ’80s by self-medicating with cocaine, but the drug, while creating an intense high, is often followed quickly by “intense depression,” according to the Foundation for a Drug-Free World.

Many people misunderstand clinical depression. They think because someone has wealth and fame, or circumstances better than others, they should be happy, or at least content.

Robin Williams wasn’t normal. While he made others laugh — and in his serious roles, such as that of Sean Maguire in “Good Will Hunting,” for which he won an Oscar for Best Supporting Actor, conveyed profound and timeless virtues — he was deeply troubled. Ironically, his part in this film was that of a psychologist.

President Obama referred to Williams’ numerous and diverse film roles: “Robin Williams was an airman, a doctor, a genie, a nanny … and everything in between. But he was one of a kind.” Indeed.

Rolling Stone magazine reported; “Last month, Williams checked himself into a rehab facility to ‘fine-tune and focus on his continued commitment, of which he remains extremely proud,’ his rep said at the time.”

I asked Dave Berg, the former co-producer of “The Tonight Show,” for his greatest memory of Williams, who appeared on the show many times with Jay Leno. He sent this email:

“I once brought my two young children to “The Tonight Show” to meet Robin. They had watched the video of ‘Hook’ many times, and were mesmerized by his performance as Peter Pan in the 1991 film. When Robin came out of his dressing room, and saw my 3-year-old son David and my 7-year-old daughter Melissa, he immediately crouched down, so he could be eye level with them. David asked Robin how he was able to fly in the film. Without missing a beat, Robin answered: ‘A little magic and very tight pants.’ Both the kids and the adults laughed, but for different reasons because Robin was playing to both audiences. That’s true comedic genius.”

Psychiatrist Keith Ablow, appearing on Fox News, said “95 percent” of people with clinical depression are treatable. Whether Robin Williams was among the 5 percent who aren’t, or there were other factors, we may never know.

In one of his most profound roles, that of poetry teacher John Keating in the 1989 film “Dead Poets Society,” Williams told his students: “We don’t read and write poetry because it’s cute. We read and write poetry because we are members of the human race. And the human race is filled with passion. And medicine, law, business, engineering, these are noble pursuits and necessary to sustain life. But poetry, beauty, romance, love, these are what we stay alive for.”

It’s sad to see someone who could make so many people laugh suffer from depression. Worse, his death and the loss of his talent add to the general gloominess that hangs over much of the world.

MY TWO SENSE:

Although Robin Williams may not have been burdened by the high costs of mental health professionals, most people are, and a combination of other variables, which effect all with Major Depression, put Williams in such a dark space that he determined death was the answer to his suffering.  (Mental illness, once thought to be a matter of feeling sorry for oneself, believe it or not, remains the number one belief to this day.)
Social stigma, along with the high costs of medical insurance for mental health issues, play co-conspirators in suicide deaths of the clinically depressed.  Not only do insurance companies recognize that mental illness is organic and therefore should be covered under the same guidelines as physical illness, they continue to support and further enable the stigmatization of anyone desperate enough to come out of hiding to seek professional help.  The added financial stressors of exorbitant costs, atop the mental health issue that brought the patient forward, punishes rather than helps and sets up yet another barrier to getting well.  The plethora of hoop-jumping insurance companies, and society, sets up for those already in a fragile state, work in conjunction to create a very sad outcome for anyone attempting to cope with clinical or major depression.  Secrecy, self-medicating, lying, deception, and covering up are all part of major depression dynamics and are directly linked to the fear and misunderstanding of mental illness.  Those who suffer depression to such a degree, have already tried to help themselves regain a sense of well-being by the abusive use of alcohol and/or drugs of all kinds.  The moment at which such an individual gives up and has come to believe that ending life is the only way to stop the pain, is the moment of no return.  It is an extremely dark mental space, and one in which the individual recognizes that living is more terrifying than dying.  In death, it is reasoned, there will be no more pain.  However, what the depressed person is not immediately cognizant of is the fact that death not only ends the torment, it ends everything else as well.  When there is no hope, there is nothing left to live for, so believes the individual suffering.  However, this is a dangerous, and in Williams’ case, a fatal error in judgment caused by an imbalance of brain chemicals which control human emotions.  Those who suffer continuous mental anguish, such as Williams, can only survive that state for so long before something breaks.  Truly understanding mental illness, which will ultimately change the social perception of those who suffer, is the greatest gift society can bring to humanity

TWITCHY TWEETS REGARDING NORTH ST. LOUIS, MO RIOTING by TWITCHY STAFF

MY TWO SENSE:

IS ANYONE SURPRISED BY THIS ATTITUDE??  I’m not, and shame on you if you are!  Petty thugs never change.  They always have a self-image which whines, “I ain’t got no nothin’!  And now dat’s gone!”  What can be expected from a group of spoiled, cry babies who’ve been, for generations, given what is needed to exist, by those who pay taxes, and who have taken (stolen) whatever else they feel entitled to?  A sense of entitlement is most dangerous in the minds of people who have been, for the past ten years, taught that they are victims of a white society and who are taught that by a progressive elite who have no idea what life is like as a minority black, or white, or what the day-to-day life of working class people are.  This progressive elite, the ruling class, is far removed from the average man, woman, and child of the same race, never mind a different race.  The ruling elite, too, go about their business with the same audacity and sense of entitlement over those they rule.  It’s frightening that ruling elite entitlement, and victim entitlement, equally share culpability of what is happening here in Missouri.  A reasonable person has to think that after all of Obama’s and Holder’s dismissive way of “enforcing” the law, relative to opposite races, things are only going to get worse.

Take a look at some of the Tweets reflecting the mood here.  The comments are provocative and aimed at inciting more violence.  That, I believe is a crime, but who will meet it head on?  St. Louis local police have been jerked around by this administration to the extent that law enforcement’s hands are tied politically–what a shame that is–the last line of defense between the law breaker and the law abiding citizens are left twisting in the wind while thugs run amok until they run out of energy.

I appeal to all those who know, or who are family to these trouble makers, to step up and help get this rage under control.  Trading one’s humanity for personal gain isn’t worth it in the end.

“We Don’t Understand Real Evil, Organized Evil, Very Well. This is Evil Incarnate.” TOWNHALL.COM by HUGH HEWITT, 8-9-14

“We Don’t Understand Real Evil, Organized Evil, Very Well. This is Evil Incarnate.”

That title is a quote from former Ambassador Ryan Crocker, quoted in Peter Baker’s fine piece in Friday’s New York Times’ on the president’s decision to sort-of, kind-of, maybe strike against ISIS.

Baker’s quote of Crocker, who served as President George W. Bush’s Ambassador to Iraq and President Obama’s Ambassador to Afghanistan, is worth reading in its entirety:

“This is about America’s national security,” said Ryan Crocker, who was ambassador to Iraq under Mr. Bush and to Afghanistan under Mr. Obama. “We don’t understand real evil, organized evil, very well. This is evil incarnate. People like Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi,” the ISIS leader, “have been in a fight for a decade. They are messianic in their vision, and they are not going to stop.”

This is the chilling reality of the war in which we continue to find ourselves, a reality that the American left –of which the president is the condensed, 100 percent concentrated version– refuses to believe: that Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, or Hamas, or any Islamist not named bin Laden is a threat to the United States. The president and his ideological allies especially refuse to consider any facts that are inconsistent with their conclusions, even facts that line up as direct threats to America, because they’d rather live in ignorance and danger than validate in any way W’s view of the world and of the crucial necessity of staying involved in the Islamic world, helping our genuine allies and fighting our genuine enemies there.

That was the terribly difficult “middle ground” that Bush and Vice President Cheney knew the U.S. had to occupy, possessing as they did (and still do) a perspective that understood that we and the rest of the West are not at war with Islam but with a virulent, radicalized and very violent strain of Sunni Islamist extremism, every bit the match of the Khomeinism that gripped Iran in the late 1970s and holds on to it still. This latter terror was not opposed by Jimmy Carter and nearly 40 years later still threatens the West in new and more menacing ways. The Sunni equivalent nested first in Afghanistan, was beaten back there, in western Iraq in the person of Zarqawi, and across the globe until, after the election of President Obama, it was granted a reprieve and regrouped and reorganized, and is growing fast and very strong now in western Iraq and other places around the globe.

The left will want to argue that Bush created ISIS, an absurd but predictable last ditch effort to build a weak wall against the reality that people like Lawrence Wright and Bernard Lewis have been arguing against for more than a decade. Indeed, Baker found the pitch perfect representative of the school of pretend-it-doesn’t-exist to quote for his piece:

“This is a slippery slope if I ever saw one,” said Phyllis Bennis, a scholar at the Institute for Policy Studies, a research organization for peace activists. “Whatever else we may have learned from the president’s ‘dumb war,’ it should be eminently clear that we cannot bomb Islamist extremists into submission or disappearance. Every bomb recruits more supporters.”

This point of view is sadly the dominant one within the White House, and the president’s very minimalist response last night should not confuse people about the crucial fact that he is one with Bennis in worldview. I quoted on my show yesterday but requite here to emphasize its importance, President Obama’s very revealing, very candid assessment of ISIS, made to the New Yorker’s David Remnick in a much overlooked but crucial piece from January:

At the core of Obama’s thinking is that American military involvement cannot be the primary instrument to achieve the new equilibrium that the region so desperately needs. And yet thoughts of a pacific equilibrium are far from anyone’s mind in the real, existing Middle East. In the 2012 campaign, Obama spoke not only of killing Osama bin Laden; he also said that Al Qaeda had been “decimated.” I pointed out that the flag of Al Qaeda is now flying in Falluja, in Iraq, and among various rebel factions in Syria; Al Qaeda has asserted a presence in parts of Africa, too.

“The analogy we use around here sometimes, and I think is accurate, is if a jayvee team puts on Lakers uniforms that doesn’t make them Kobe Bryant,” Obama said, resorting to an uncharacteristically flip analogy. “I think there is a distinction between the capacity and reach of a bin Laden and a network that is actively planning major terrorist plots against the homeland versus jihadists who are engaged in various local power struggles and disputes, often sectarian.

“Let’s just keep in mind, Falluja is a profoundly conservative Sunni city in a country that, independent of anything we do, is deeply divided along sectarian lines. And how we think about terrorism has to be defined and specific enough that it doesn’t lead us to think that any horrible actions that take place around the world that are motivated in part by an extremist Islamic ideology are a direct threat to us or something that we have to wade into.”

He went on, “You have a schism between Sunni and Shia throughout the region that is profound. Some of it is directed or abetted by states who are in contests for power there. You have failed states that are just dysfunctional, and various warlords and thugs and criminals are trying to gain leverage or a foothold so that they can control resources, populations, territory. . . . And failed states, conflict, refugees, displacement—all that stuff has an impact on our long-term security. But how we approach those problems and the resources that we direct toward those problems is not going to be exactly the same as how we think about a transnational network of operatives who want to blow up the World Trade Center. We have to be able to distinguish between these problems analytically, so that we’re not using a pliers where we need a hammer, or we’re not using a battalion when what we should be doing is partnering with the local government to train their police force more effectively, improve their intelligence capacities.”

This point of view cannot be reconciled with the facts on the ground in western Iraq, or Nigeria, or Mali, or Somalia or indeed in Gaza. It must oblige the president o almost double over with the pains of cognitive dissonance when confronted with the rampage and slaughters of Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi. As Remnick pointed out, this worldview is “the core” of the president’s understanding of the world, the equivalent of Reagan’s view of the Soviet Union as an “evil empire.” It is the Rosetta Stone to understanding everything President Obama has done –and mostly not done– since becoming president in 2009. He departs from it only when the televised pictures he and his advisors see –whether from Libya as Qaddafi marched towards Benghazi with the intention of slaughtering his opponents or of ISIS trapping children on mountains– persuade him that, if only because the poor, emotional American people won’t put up with such picture, he has to pretend to do something.

It isn’t really “appeasement” which at least recognized evil and tried to buy it off, though it issues in policies that look like those that were produced by appeasement. It is rather a child-like anti-intellectualism, an academic’s withdrawal from reality into endless faculty meetings where debates about parking spaces and tenure displace the reality of the world outside of the 90-minute meeting committee process.

Because this worldview is fully in control of the American military, national security and diplomatic powers, we will do nothing about al-Baghdadi for at least two more years when, hopefully, an heir to Reagan arrives to reintroduce American power and influence in the world. American power does not always and everywhere mean military power, but it does include it and it ought to be used, especially when a long standing ally like the Kurds are threatened by barbarians at their gates, and not in a haphazard, half-gesture of concern from the skies. A reflexive horror of “boots on the ground” gripped Carter as it grips Obama, and the president who follows Obama will have to reintroduce the world to the prospect of dealing with American military might.

Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi understands he is up against a paper mache president right now, and is acting accordingly, as are his arch enemies –the mullahs in Iran– and their half-brothers in Hamas and their generous uncle in Moscow. As do the Chinese. The good news is that there are Abbotts and Harpers about, and especially Netanyahu. They have their counterparts within the GOP and those men and women are finding their voices. Even this pretend-to-be-president president may be obliged to act if the ISIS fanatics go too far and too fast. They lack brakes because they believe God is on their side. What they might do that might wake even this president is pretty horrible to consider but if you have seen what they are doing in Iraq, you must understand they’d gladly do whatever they could to deeply injure America again.

It is an ongoing, never-ending-in-our-lifetimes global conflict and it isn’t going away, no matter how many iPads we produce or where LeBron plays or how Johnny Football does. I like most Americans treasure my diversions from the reality of this awful situation, but presidents don’t get to live a life disconnected from them and deeply connected to fairways and greens.

It is hard to imagine how far ISIS will have spread its evil by the time January 2017 brings a new resolve to the White House. Hopefully the seriousness of this situation adds to the repudiation of the president and his party of go-along yes men and women at the polls in November, and a rebuilding of the Department of Defense can begin in earnest in January 2015.

It didn’t have to be this way. W’s generals and their troops won the war in Iraq. President Obama booted away the peace and the intricate coalition that held it in place when he abruptly pulled a residual American force from Iraq in 2011. This is a sequel to what happened in Vietnam in 1975. This time there are no boat people because there is no ocean and there are no boats. Just slaughter. And this time the enemy isn’t going to stop with conquering their country and incursions into a few local countries.

“This is evil incarnate,” as Ambassador Crocker put it so succinctly and well. Evil incarnate doesn’t fill out brackets, or rest or grow weary. It marches on and sneers at the delusions of its enemies who don’t even know they are the target.

Must Watch: Wife of Slain Navy SEAL Chris Kyle Gives Heart-Wrenching Speech at NRA Event

Taya Kyle, Wife of Slain Navy SEAL Chris Kyle Gives Heart Wrenching Speech at NRA Event

Taya Kyle (NBC DFW)

Before Taya Kyle, the wife of slain Navy SEAL sniper Chris Kyle, even said a word, the crowd at the National Rifle Association Leadership Forum was on their feet giving her the longest standing ovation of the day. Just before she took the stage, a video honoring Kyle was shown at the Houston event.

“I challenge anyone to tell me there isn’t evil in this world,” Kyle said, her voice drenched in emotion. “From the days of Cain and Abel, we know all too well there will always be evil. But that evil shouldn’t take away our freedoms. In fact, the only way to defeat evil is by taking advantage of our freedoms.

Kyle went on to talk about the side of her husband that people never knew.

“First, promise me that you won’t think of Chris solely as a hero. He wouldn’t want that. Instead, I ask you to see him the way he would’ve wanted you to see him. As just an everyday boy who did his best at what he loved, growing into an everyday man, loving his God, loving his country…and loving his family,” she said, wiping a tear from her eye as the audience interrupted her with applause.

The widow talked about her slain husband’s appreciation for guns and insisted that guns do not commit acts of evil, people do.

Though she held up remarkably well while talking about her husband, there were moments when her emotions got the best of her, particularly when she saw a meaningful photo of Chris Kyle riding a horse and wearing a cowboy hat put on the big screen behind her.

“He grew up to be a fine cowboy, and a handsome one at that if you don’t mind me saying,” Kyle quipped being overcome with emotions.

Kyle thanked the entire audience for fighting for the rights of all Americans, including veterans, which is what Chris would have wanted, she said. Chris Kyle dedicated his life to helping fellow veterans, including creating the FITCO Cares Foundation that serves veterans.

Kyle, 38, and his friend Chad Littlefield, 35, were killed on Saturday, Feb. 2, 2013, by a troubled veteran going through a tough time. He wasn’t trying to “treat” the troubled vet, he was simply trying to be a brother to a fellow serviceman. Kyle proudly talked about regularly taking soldiers suffering from physical or emotional issues on hunting trips and other outdoor activities to provide comradery, friendship and support.

Obama, the Hitman: Killing Due Process

One of the many unfulfilled aims of the Obama administration has been the criminalization of political opponents via the machinery of U.S. anti-terror statutes and other devices.  So far, President Obama and his cronies have stopped at saber-rattling, confronted by an extremely heightened public awareness and growing anger amongst average Americans at the Obama agenda.  Many will recall the innumerable statements of regulatory czar Cass Sunstein and his call for banning “falsehoods,” as well as the infamous DHS reports attempting to tar conservatives as potential terrorists.  More recently, the TSA has sought to make all Americans traveling for the holidays into terror suspects, attracting significant public outrage.  The direct approach has arguably failed.

But where the direct approach has failed, a more silent approach is poised to succeed.  No constitution has an unconditional right to life — except the U.S. Constitution.  In the United States, no man can be deprived of life without due process — i.e., a trial by a jury of his peers.  However, using shady CIA “hit lists” designed to thwart American-born terrorists, President Obama claims the power to capriciously do away with this most fundamental of American freedoms.  Through a new clandestine assassination program targeting selected citizens, Obama will void due process.  The list of targeted Americans is currently not available to the public.  The New York Times and the Washington Post both report that Obama has approved the assassination of U.S. citizens engaged in terrorist acts overseas.  U.S. citizen Anwar al-Awlaki was killed pursuant to this new program.

Yes, Awlaki was evil, and his behavior was criminal and treasonous.  But before the dust settles and his assassination becomes precedent, a few questions come to mind: Islamic terrorists may be the object, but what happens if this power is selectively turned against political opponents?  Is there any accountability?  Who decides who is and isn’t a terrorist?  America cannot allow the precious right to life to fade without a fight.  No compromise can be tolerated on a freedom this basic.

Ironically, this highly unconstitutional protocol has been lauded by Republican Americans ever-concerned with the spread of Islamic terrorism.  The sentiment among many is one of relief, that finally President Obama takes the threat of Islamic terror seriously.  Could this magical change be the salvation of America in the War on Terror?

Obama’s habitual actions until the present point speak to the contrary.  President Obama gives Miranda rights to foreign terrorists without first attempting to garner information that could save American lives.  President Obama delays an investigation of the atrocities at Fort Hood.  President Obama posts the TSA playbook online for the all the world to see.  President Obama makes strategically damning declarations like “America is not — and never will be — at war with Islam.”  President Obama appoints officials who publicly advocate Islamic sharia law.  President Obama says that the aims of Hamas are fine as long as they are achieved “peacefully.”  And finally, President Obama has sought to grant foreign enemy combatants not even protected by the Geneva Convention the privileges of U.S. citizens.

And now we are supposed to believe that because President Obama is willing to trash the fundamental right of Americans to due process without so much as an amendment, he is somehow turning up the heat in the War on Terror?  This is typical liberal-style “warfare.”  War becomes a means to gain power at home instead of protecting freedom abroad.  As the sage Abraham Lincoln would remark in a letter to law partner William Herndon:

The provision of the Constitution giving the war making power to Congress was dictated, as I understand it, by the following reasons: kings had always been involving and impoverishing their people in wars, pretending generally, if not always, that the good of the people was the object. This our convention understood to be the most oppressive of all kingly oppressions, and they resolved to so frame the Constitution that no one man should hold the power of bringing this oppression upon us. But your view destroys the whole matter, and places our President where kings have always stood.

Lincoln viewed unlimited war as the “most oppressive of all kingly oppressions,” and yet in the present state of affairs, we have given to the presidency the awesome power of fighting a protracted and ill-defined war, by any means necessary.  Obama is now the equivalent of an elected king.

Consequently, the present move of the Obama administration towards KGB-style assassination of U.S. citizens should be regarded with close scrutiny.

Many warned that one day very soon, the PATRIOT Act and its sister legislation would be used against American citizens.  The broad and ambiguous language found in the PATRIOT Act gives the president, whoever that may be, the power to determine what is and is not “terror.”  Section 411, G, vi, II of the PARIOT Act defines a terrorist as anyone “designated, upon publication in the Federal Register, by the Secretary of State in consultation with or upon the request of the Attorney General”[1].

Everything that follows is contingent on this loose definition — i.e. warrantless wiretapping, warrantless entry, human tracking, access to bank statements and phone records, access to internet records, “enhanced” interrogation, and now assassination.  Predictably, as a result of this accountability vacuum, the definition of terrorism is subject to frequent and conspicuous change — e.g., the DHS report labeling pro-lifers “terrorists”[2].  President Obama’s preferred definition of terrorism generally involves Christian bigots and White Supremacists [3].  In fact, Obama’s counterterrorism advisor wants to delist “jihadists” as security threats.

Even the philosophical basis of the PATRIOT Act is flawed.  If citizens are found conspiring against the United States, a provision already exists in the Constitution to address it.  It’s called “treason.”  As long as due process is afforded, treason is punishable by death.  Recall the trial and execution of the Rosenbergs in the last century.

By ordering the CIA to shoot and kill American citizens if classified as “terrorist,” a power the White House now wields [4], both the Fourth and Fifth Amendments are violated, since the Fourth Amendment protects “[t]he right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects,” and the Fifth Amendment guarantees that “[n]o person shall be … deprived of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law[.]”  The “person” and “life” of American citizens are clearly breached by such an order.  The exceptions to the Fourth Amendment are arguably infringed by the entering of homes without warrant — a practice sanctioned by the PATRIOT Act — since “hot pursuit” is not always a factor, and because the home has traditionally been a place where individuals possessed a “reasonable expectation of privacy.”  The courts have held that warrantless wiretapping, also a power found in the PATRIOT Act, is illegal and usurps constitutionally guaranteed liberty [5].

These breathtaking powers all fall under the vague and limitless definition of terrorism now in the hands of one of the least trustworthy men ever to sit in the White House.

It was Benjamin Franklin who once said, “They that surrender essential liberty for a little temporary safety, deserve neither freedom nor safety.”  America may be “safer” looking up little girls’ skirts, but at what cost?  If freedom vanishes to guarantee peace of mind at airports, can al-Qaeda not claim de facto victory in the War on Terror?  Put simply, if constitutional rights can be removed by mere statute, then they are not rights.

Nothing is more certain than that power corrupts, and absolute power corrupts absolutely.  The power by which we are “safer” today will be our ruin tomorrow.

Trust in a powerful leader is not the American way.  “Confidence is everywhere the parent of despotism,” Thomas Jefferson once said.  Americans must not trust that President Obama will use this new power responsibly.  We must “bind him down from mischief with the chains of the Constitution.”  Only then will all Americans, and not merely those who embrace Obama’s radical agenda, be secure in their liberty.

Congressman blasts Obama’s decision to ‘arm’ extremists

Calls decision to give Muslim Brotherhood F-16s ‘unwise’

Published: 19 hours ago

John Griffing is a frequent contributor to American Thinker and is published across an array of conservative media, both in the realm of commentary and research.F-16s

Congressman Ted Poe, R-Texas, says it is irresponsible for Barack Obama to be “arming” a country that may be aiming for the destruction of Israel with a shipment of 20 F-16 fighter jets.

“It is reckless and unwise for the U.S. to give F-16s to Egypt and its new president/dictator, controlled by the Muslim Brotherhood,” he told WND. “This extremist group is notoriously anti-American and anti-Israel. The United States should not be arming a country ruled by a group that has the destruction of Israel in its charter.”

Poe’s comments fall in line with other critics of the move, confirmed recently by federal officials.

Florida Rep. Vern Buchanan said, “American tax dollars must not be used to aid and abet any dictatorial regime that stands with terrorists,” and Rep. Mac Thornberry, R-Texas, said, “We should also be cautious about the arms we provide.”

Obama is proceeding with his plan to gift Egypt with 20 brand new F-16 fighter jets as part of a $450 million aid package promised to Egypt in 2010 when it was led by the U.S.-friendly Hosni Mubarak regime.

Now Egypt is governed by the openly hostile Muslim Brotherhood, which has called for the destruction of America and Israel. The new President Mohammed Morsi, head of the Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt, recently joined in a public prayer to the effect of “Oh Allah, destroy the Jews and their supporters. Oh Allah, disperse them, rend them asunder.”

Poe, a member of the House Judiciary Subcommittee on Crime, Terrorism and Homeland Security, wasn’t pleased. Nor was Gen. Jim Cash, the former director of NORAD, who believes Obama’s actions just plain wrong.

“In my opinion, continuing to support them financially through foreign aid is criminal. I say that to emphasize how I feel about providing any type of weapon system to them. We have an out-of-control government right now, and this will cost this nation greatly in the long run,” he told WND.

Find out what Obama really is planning, in “Obama’s America: 2016.”

America in the past frequently has withdrawn promises of arms shipments when instability seems evident.

But the promised delivery is going ahead for Morsi, whose regime recently began talks with Iran and its president, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, who is known for his virulent calls for the overthrow of the West and his pursuit of nuclear weapons.

He has said he wants to “wipe Israel off the face of the map” and that “We don’t shy away from declaring that Islam is ready to rule the world.”

Critics believe that by doing business with Ahmadinejad, Morsi has forfeited his right to military help from the U.S., most certainly Obama’s gift of 20 F-16s.

But Obama’s pursuit of his own plan falls on the heels of other situations where critics contend he has given aid to those who are not America’s friends.

Among those incidents:

  • Obama proposed granting civilian protections to Islamic terrorists.

  • Obama indirectly funneled $20 million to terrorist organization Hamas. Obama has publicly stated that the aims of Hamas are fine, so long as they are achieved “peacefully.”

  • Obama reneged on missile defense pledges to Eastern European allies in a leaked deal with the Russian Federation, and used British nuclear secrets as a bargaining chip in the face of British.

  • Obama delayed investigation of the Fort Hood massacre for months, warning of “political theater,” and yet wasted no time classifying any domestic violence as the result of conservative opposition to his policies as “terrorist,” even having the DHS release reports to that effect.

  • Obama has sought cuts to the U.S. nuclear deterrent that would reduce deliverable warheads to 300, which could leave America critically exposed to possible nuclear attack.

  • Obama has begun announcing once secret U.S. missile tests and satellite launches.

  • Obama unilaterally ended a strategic practice called “calculated ambiguity,” considered crucial by defense insiders, publicizing the exact number of warheads in America’s arsenal.

  • Obama has pledged to “de-MIRV” all American ICBMs – dramatically reducing options if an exchange ever took place between the United States and Russia – as there were some 3,000 strategic targets listed in the former Soviet Union at the close of the last decade.

  • Obama has allowed Iran to acquire top secret U.S. drone technology. Drones have self-destruct capability and, as Dick Cheney pointed out, can alternatively be destroyed by U.S. fighter-jets from the air – preventing acquisition by U.S. enemies. Former NORAD Director Jim Cash, when contacted by WND, said he did not believe the drone acquisition to be accidental.

  • Obama has publicly stated that Iran has the right to attain “nuclear energy.”

  • Obama has sent guns to Mexican drug cartels, not for tracking purposes, but in an apparent move to transfer weapons across international borders.

  • Obama has proposed awarding medals to soldiers in Afghanistan for “restraint,” saying he wants to avoid words like “victory,” and announced his intent to give the Taliban (the organization that trained and equipped al-Qaida prior to 9/11), a formal role in Afghanistan.

  • Obama removed “jihadi” from the national security lexicon.

  • Obama is vocally critical of America’s “superpower” status.

  • Obama ordered the creation of a “citizen assassination” program, attends “kill committee” meetings for the same, all while advocating Miranda rights for foreign terrorists.

In addition to the list, which is not exhaustive, there are structural issues, like intelligence leaks earlier this year or the leak of the TSA playbook, which could conceivably enable American enemies to exploit weaknesses in current transportation infrastructure.

There are also the more philosophical issues that are thought by some to represent an inherent anti-American default position on the part of the president. The Muslim Prayer Day in 2009 is one such example.

Imams were permitted by Obama to hold a Muslim Prayer Day near White House premises in 2009, the same year Obama prohibited a similar Christian “Day of Prayer” despite the longstanding precedent for such gatherings. One of the speakers at the event is on record saying, “We are going to the White House, so that Islam will be victorious, Allah willing, and the White House will become … Muslim house.”

Similarly, Siraj Wihhaj, an unindicted co-conspirator in the 1993 WTC bombings, was invited to deliver the “Juma,” an Islamic prayer, at the 2012 Democratic National Convention. Wihhaj once remarked, “It is my duty and our duty as Muslims to replace the U.S. Constitution with the Quran.”

The invitation later was withdrawn after media coverage made the issue the focus of controversy.

Killer of 2 NY firemen bragged in note he liked ‘killing people,’ death toll rises to 3

Posted on December 25, 2012 by Cowboy Byte

An ex-con killed two firefighters with the same caliber and make military-style rifle used in the Connecticut school massacre after typing a note pledging to burn down his neighborhood and “do what I like doing best, killing people,” police said Tuesday as another body, believed to be the gunman’s missing sister, was found.

William Spengler, 62, who served 17 years in prison for manslaughter in the 1980 hammer slaying of his grandmother, set his house afire before dawn Christmas Eve before taking a revolver, a shotgun and a semiautomatic rifle to a sniper position outside, Police Chief Gerald Pickering said.

The death toll rose to three as police revealed that a body believed to be the killer’s 67-year-old sister, Cheryl Spengler, was found in his fire-ravaged home.

Authorities say he sprayed bullets at the first responders, killing two firefighters and injuring two others who remained hospitalized Tuesday in stable condition, awake and alert and expected to survive. He then killed himself as seven houses burned on a sliver of land along Lake Ontario.

Police recovered a military-style .223-caliber semiautomatic Bushmaster rifle with flash suppression, the same make and caliber weapon used in the elementary school massacre in Newtown, Conn., that killed 26, including 20 young children, Pickering said.

NY firemen’s killer mapped out plan for slayings

MY TWO SENSE

Before we have an ah-ha moment regarding those danged guns, let us first look at the match.  That’s right-the fire starter’s friend.  If we’re going to ban the semi-automatic firearms, we are going to have to take down the MATCH!  Those things are ubiquitous, and there are much more matches in the world than there is ammo, especially when one subtracts the millions of bullets this government has placed in Social Security building across the nation.  This was a while back.  Didn’t know about that?  Well, now you know, and it’s time to start asking questions about that little maneuver.  Why would any government warehouse millions of firearm ammunition in the first place?  If the purpose is to arm our military then why not store such items with the military?  Could it be to arm that civilian army Obama talked about forming in his first term?  If you want to watch that speech, do a search on keywords “Obama-civilian army,” and there you can see for yourself.  There is something more going on here, and it’s our job to find out what that is.  Don’t let the red herrings, being thrown out to us, to distract our attention from the real issues we must deal with.

Do not lose sight of the fact that there is a law that does not permit ex-cons to own weapons, and the fact that this murderer had them, speaks volumes to the lack of enforcement of that law and not to the existence of firearms made available for law-abiding citizens who are not evil, nor clinically psychotic.  This man was clearly delusional, or he was truly evil, and he was either of those things, very likely for most of his adult life, if not longer, and the shooters in the recent past were also psychotic or evil.  Psychosis is the inability to think, feel, and see reality, and pure evil is just that.

Just Me

Fire Shooting

This 2006 image provided by the Monroe County Sheriff’s Department shows William H. Spengler Jr. Authorities say Spengler, 62, set a house and car ablaze Monday, Dec. 24, 2012 in Webster, N.Y., and then opened fire, killing two firefighters and wounding two others. Spengler, who served 17 years in prison for the 1980 slaying of his grandmother, later killed himself after a shootout with police. (AP Photo/Monroe County Sheriff’s Department )

WEBSTER, N.Y. (AP) — The ex-con turned sniper who killed two firefighters wanted to make sure his goodbye note was legible, typing out his desire to “do what I like doing best, killing people” before setting the house where he lived with his sister ablaze, police said.

Police Chief Gerald Pickering said Tuesday that the 62-year-old loner, William Spengler, brought plenty of ammunition with him for three weapons including a military-style assault rifle as he set out on a quest to burn down his neighborhood just before sunrise on Christmas Eve.

And when firefighters arrived to stop him, he unleashed a torrent of bullets, shattering the windshield of the fire truck that volunteer firefighter and police Lt. Michael Chiapperini, 43, drove to the scene. Fellow firefighter Tomasz Kaczowka, 19, who worked as a 911 dispatcher, was killed as well.

Two other firefighters were struck by bullets, one in the pelvis and the other in the chest and knee. They remained hospitalized in stable condition and were expected to survive.

On Tuesday, investigators found a body in the Spengler home, presumably that of the sister a neighbor said Spengler hated: 67-year-old Cheryl Spengler. Spengler’s penchant for death had surfaced before. He served 17 years in prison for manslaughter in the 1980 hammer slaying of his grandmother.

But his intent was unmistakable when he left his flaming home carrying a pump-action shotgun, a .38-caliber revolver and a .223-caliber semiautomatic Bushmaster rifle with flash suppression, the same make and caliber weapon used in the elementary school massacre in Newtown, Conn., that killed 26.

“He was equipped to go to war, kill innocent people,” the chief said of a felon who wasn’t allowed to possess weapons because of his criminal past. It was not clear how he got them.

The assault rifle was believed to be the weapon that struck down the firefighters. He then killed himself as seven houses burned on a sliver of land along Lake Ontario. His body was not found on a nearby beach until hours afterward.

Residents of the suburban Rochester neighborhood who left their homes during the fire were allowed to return Tuesday. Police SWAT team members had used an armored vehicle to evacuate more than 30 residents.

Spengler’s motive was left unclear, Pickering said, even as authorities began analyzing a two- to three-page typewritten rambling note Spengler left behind.

He declined to reveal the note’s full content or say where it was found. He read only one chilling line: “I still have to get ready to see how much of the neighborhood I can burn down, and do what I like doing best, killing people.”

Pickering added: “There was some rambling in there and some intelligence we need to follow up on.”

It remained unknown what set Spengler off but a next-door neighbor, Roger Vercruysse, noted that he loved his mother, Arline, who died in October after living in the house in a neighborhood of seasonal and year-round homes across the road from a lakeshore popular with recreational boaters.

Pickering said it was unclear whether the person believed to be Spengler’s sister died before or during the fire.

“It was a raging inferno in there,” Pickering said.

As Pickering described it and as emergency radio communications on the scene showed, the heavily armed Spengler took a position behind a small hill by the house as four firefighters arrived after 5:30 a.m. to extinguish the fire: two on a fire truck; two in their own vehicles.

Several firefighters went beneath the truck to shield themselves as an off-duty police officer who came to the scene pulled his vehicle alongside the truck to try to shield them, authorities said.

The first police officer who arrived chased and exchanged shots with Spengler, recounting it later over his police radio.

“I could see the muzzle blasts comin’ at me. … I fired four shots at him. I thought he went down,” the officer said.

At another point, he said: “I don’t know if I hit him or not. He’s by a tree. … He was movin’ eastbound on the berm when I was firing shots.” Pickering portrayed the officer as a hero who saved many lives.

The audio posted on the website RadioReference.com also has someone reporting “firefighters are down” and saying “got to be rifle or shotgun — high-powered … semi or fully auto.”

Spengler had been charged with murder in his grandmother’s death but pleaded guilty to a reduced charge of manslaughter, apparently to spare his family a trial. After he was freed from prison, Spengler had lived a quiet life on Lake Road on a narrow peninsula where Irondequoit Bay meets Lake Ontario.

That ended when he left his burning home Monday morning, armed with his weapons, a lot of ammunition and a measure of hate.

“I’m not sure we’ll ever know what was going through his mind,” Pickering said.

Services were set for the two Rochester-area volunteer firefighters. Calling hours will be held at Webster Schroeder High School on Friday and Saturday. A funeral service for Chiapperini was scheduled for noon Sunday at the high school, with burial in West Webster Cemetery.

A funeral Mass for Kaczowka will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Stanislaus Church in Rochester. Burial will be at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in Rochester.

DC Police Investigating NBC’s Gregory for Brandishing Illegal Magazine

by Warner Todd Huston 25 Dec 2012

Washington D.C. Police Chief Cathy Lanier has confirmed that the department is looking into allegations that NBC’s David Gregory violated D.C.’s gun banning laws during a recent taping of Meet the Press.

In a discussion about gun control, host David Gregory brandished a 30-round magazine purportedly for an AR-15 or similar “assault rifle.”  The discussion took place on December 23, during the broadcast of NBC’s Sunday morning political talk show.

Washington D.C.’s gun laws, however, state that even possessing such a device is a violation. Meet the Press is filmed at NBC’s D.C. studios.

The law in question is titled: DC High Capacity Ammunition Magazines – D.C. Official Code 7-2506.01, and reads (my bold):

(b) No person in the District shall possess, sell, or transfer any large capacity ammunition feeding device regardless of whether the device is attached to a firearm. For the purposes of this subsection, the term large capacity ammunition feeding device means a magazine, belt, drum, feed strip, or similar device that has a capacity of, or that can be readily restored or converted to accept, more than 10 rounds of ammunition. The term large capacity ammunition feeding device shall not include an attached tubular device designed to accept, and capable of operating only with, .22 caliber rimfire ammunition.

Breitbart contacted the office of the police chief and asked if there were any plans to look into this apparent violation of the District’s gun laws. In response, Chief Lanier replied, “Yes, we are investigating the incident to determine if the magazine was in fact real.”

We will continue to watch this developing story.

Liberals Panic As They Lose the Gun Narrative

So, the politicians’ actions have spoken louder than their words, but what of the media? We lawyers always say that when your case is strong, pound on the law and the evidence, and when your case is weak, pound on the table. The furniture is splintering in Liberalland.

Their post-Newtown strategy was always to prevent an effective response from the pro-gun freedom side by both rapid action and by demonization. But the holidays and the kabuki theater that is the fiscal cliff drama meant that legislative action, their Holy Grail, would have to wait. That gave people time to think and the gun freedom side the time to react.

Demonizing those who support gun freedom was always intended as a weapon to silence them. It was also critical that we, law-abiding gun owners, become the Other. By dehumanizing us and painting us as evil, it is that much easier to strip us of our rights.

But gun freedom advocates fought back. Using the mainstream media, conservative media and especially social media – we need to understand its huge significance here – gun freedom advocates countered liberals’ bogus “facts.” Media reports about “automatic” weapons were corrected, clownish statements about “high caliber magazines” and “large capacity round” were mocked. The struggle raged over millions of Facebook posts. The average citizen saw gun banners ask “When will America control access to weapons?” and then saw several experts among his or her friends post about the significant hurdles one needs to get over to get a gun. Truth bypassed the mainstream media and became a weapon for the side of fundamental rights.

The banners overplayed their hand, losing credibility with every distortion, evasion and smear. The cries of “Blood is on your hands!” failed to resonate – reasonable Americans just did not blame the actions of a single sociopath on millions of their fellow neighbors. And it did not help when third-string celebrities and wizened literary has-beens took to hoping gun rights advocates would be shot for daring to oppose disarmament.

The gun banners also counted on a narrative that portrayed a respect for the Second Amendment. They sought only “reasonable restrictions” – why, no one wants to ban or confiscate your guns! The problem was one of memo distribution – not everybody got that memo. Mayor Bloomberg was putting out that what few guns he might graciously deign to leave in the hands of the unworthy would be starved of bullets, while Governor Cuomo acknowledged that confiscation was one of the options.

Oops. “Gun control” is a process that is designed and intended to lead to a total gun ban, and the banners are counting on people not realizing it.

Their credibility and motives already in question, the gun banners became vulnerable to a shift in the paradigm from depriving law-abiding citizens of effective defensive weapons to the idea of protecting kids with armed personnel in schools.

Suddenly, the gun banners had to argue two ridiculous positions. The first was that allowing trained educators or police having weapons in schools is a danger. The problem is that people generally like and trust teachers and cops. The second position was even worse, that armed personnel or police are somehow utterly useless against untrained, amateur creeps who seek to confront six-year olds. All over America, millions of parents noted how none of the wealthy gun banners were disbanding their personal security teams and thought, “You know, I think I’d like having a cop around my kid too.”

Frustration at the fact that their argument had not been unquestioningly accepted morphed into faux moral outrage that their opponents had dared offer any alternative proposal at all. E.J. Dionne of the WaPo was a prime example. He had to “grope for words to describe the National Rifle Association’s proposal,” yet he managed to find some: “Absurd, unbelievable, tragic, obscene,” as well as “insane.”

Note that Dionne’s righteous fury does not apply to the armed guards at the Post’s front door, surrounding President Obama, or to anywhere else other than in the vicinity of regular people’s children.

Particularly amusing are the liberals who transform into green eyeshades misers with the public purse when it comes to cops in schools. The folks who can’t spend enough dough on fudge-smeared, patriarchy-challenging performance artists suddenly become thrifty Scotsmen when it comes to doling out a few shillings to put a cop on campus.

They have been unable to articulate any coherent argument opposing putting cops in schools because there is no coherent argument against putting cops in schools. But more than anything, the mommies at the affluent Los Angeles-area school my kids attend have convinced me that the narrative has escaped the gun grabbers.

Knowing our reputations as proud conservatives – we represent diversity for our liberal friends – a pal of my wife remarked, out of the blue, that “I think my husband and I need to buy guns.” Whoa.

And as third graders sang holiday songs at their pageant while I surveyed the packed, vulnerable room, I blurted out to another mommy that I wished I could legally carry a weapon to protect those kids. And she told me that she wished that I could too. Whoa.

Gun banners, you lost the President, the senators, the social media, and now you’ve lost liberal LA mommies. You’ve lost everything. Again.

David Gregory Under Police Investigation Over Gun Magazine On ‘Meet The Press’

UPDATE: NBC News had requested and was denied permission to use a high capacity magazine on “Meet the Press.” Legal Insurrection’s William A. Jacobson looked into an email allegedly from the Metropolitan Police Department which said that the network contacted the police before the segment. The MPD’s Aziz Alali confirmed it, telling Jacobson:

“NBC contacted the Metropolitan Police Department inquiring if they could utilize a high capacity magazine for this segment. NBC was informed that that possession of a high capacity magazine is not permissible and the request was denied.”

EARLIER: David Gregory is being investigated by police over the gun magazine that he showed on Sunday’s “Meet the Press.”

Gregory held up what appeared to be a 30-round gun magazine during his contentious interview with the NRA’s Wayne LaPierre. He was asking LaPierre whether fewer victims would have died in the tragic shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School if the gunman had not had access to so many bullets.

Araz Alali, police officer and spokesman, confirmed to Politico on Tuesday that the Metropolitan Police Department is looking into “The ‘Meet the Press,’ David Gregory incident.” “There are D.C. code violations, D.C. code restrictions on guns, ammunition. We are investigating this matter. Beyond the scope of that, I can’t comment any further,” he said.

The code in question says, “No person in the District shall possess, sell, or transfer any large capacity ammunition feeding device regardless of whether the device is attached to a firearm,” and has been mentioned by numerous conservatives making the argument against Gregory.

CORRECTION: The headline has been updated to say that Gregory was holding a gun magazine, not a clip, on “Meet the Press.”

‘Violated’: Women Subjected to ‘Roadside Body Cavity Search’ During Routine Traffic Stop (And Dash Cam Caught It All)

Angel and Ashley Dobbs Suing Texas State Troopers After Being Given Roadside Body Cavity Search

Two women from Irving, Texas are suing state troopers and the head of their department in federal court after they say they were forced to endure an illegal and humiliating “roadside body cavity search” during a routine traffic stop, The Dallas Morning News reports.

The case is currently under investigation by the public integrity division of the Dallas County District Attorney’s Office and will go before a grand jury in January.

The dash-mounted camera on a trooper’s vehicle reportedly captured the entire incident on video. Angel Dobbs, 38, and her niece Ashley Dobbs, 24, say the unlawful search happened on the night of July 13 along a state highway.

In their lawsuit, the women allege that a female trooper, identified as Kelley Helleson, used her fingers to search both their anuses and vaginas with the same latex glove. To add to their horrific experience, the women say they were on the side of the road in full view of passing vehicles.

The video from the car’s dash cam clearly shows a female officer feeling around both women’s breasts and then sticking her hand down the front and back of their pants, wearing latex gloves.

According to the lawsuit, David Farrell, a Texas state trooper, pulled the car over after seeing the women throw cigarette butts out of the window. He reportedly questioned them about marijuana and then called Helleson to the scene to assist him.

Farrell requested the search because he said the women were “acting weird,” the suit said.

More from The Dallas Morning News:

Farrell searched their vehicle for marijuana but didn’t find any, they said. He then tried to “morph this situation into a DWI investigation,” the lawsuit said. Angel Dobbs passed a roadside sobriety test and the women were given warnings for littering, the suit said.

During the search of Angel Dobbs’ anus, Helleson irritated one of the cysts she suffers from, the lawsuit said, causing her “severe and continuing pain and discomfort.”

“Angel Dobbs was overwhelmed with emotion and a feeling of helplessness and reacted stating that Helleson had just violated her in a most horrific manner,” the lawsuit said.

The women also are suing Steven McCraw, director of the Texas Department of Public Safety, saying he was aware of previous problems and complaints about “unlawful strip searches, cavity searches and the like” yet failed to do anything about it.

While the Texas Department of Public Safety refuses to discuss pending court cases, DPS spokeswoman Katherine Cesinger issued the following statement:

“Following the traffic stop that occurred in July of this year and based on a citizen’s complaint, the Texas Rangers conducted an inquiry surrounding the events, and has since turned the results over to the Dallas County District Attorney’s Office for review.”

Scott H. Palmer, an attorney representing the women, told the Dallas Morning News that the entire ordeal was caught on video from one of the trooper’s dash cams.

“You can see what’s happening clearly,” he added.

Palmer blasted the troopers’ conduct, saying the searches were basically “sexual assault” on the side of the road. “No one’s ever seen the likes of this…We can’t let them get away with it.”

‘Hate speech’ targets 2nd Amendment supporters

Michael Carl is a veteran journalist with overseas military experience and experience as a political consultant. He also has two Master’s Degrees, is a bi-vocational pastor and lives with his family in the Northeast United States.

“If this hate speech leads to hate crimes, people like Piers Morgan and Chris Matthews will be partly responsible.”

That’s the word from Second Amendment Foundation Executive Vice President Alan Gottlieb on the issue of the vitriol that is being directed both at gun owners and firearms rights organizations in the aftermath of the Connecticut school shooting tragedy.

Gottlieb said the hostile tone against gun owners may lead to actual “hate crimes,” and some of the communications that have come into his office have been “vulgar.”

“We have received some vulgar e-mails from people that want us to vanish for the sake of a civilized world,” Gottlieb said. “This kind of rhetoric does not contribute to any rational discussion.”

He said the level of dialogue is only heightening a violent atmosphere.

“Vitriol like this only promotes hate, but apparently it’s OK to perpetuate bigotry so long as you are an anti-gunner, and a liberal. If anyone is harmed as a result of this hate campaign, we expect them to be prosecuted under the hate crimes laws,” Gottlieb said.

The Examiner reported Texas Democratic Party leader John Cobaruvvias tweeted that NRA supporters should be shot.

“Can we now shoot the NRA and everyone who defends them?” he asked.

Cobaruvvias is not the only one to post an angry tweet. From a Democratic Party Twitter feed came “Murder every NRA member” and another too vile and violent to reproduce here.

Ironically, the NRA reports that in the days following the Connecticut school shootings, the gun group gained membership. One report said that the NRA has gained 8,000 new members each day since the Connecticut shootings.

But the rhetoric on television and in columns has been strident.

One of the clearest examples of the tone in the dialogue is the exchange between Gun Owners of America Executive Director Larry Pratt and CNN host Piers Morgan.

In the interview Pratt said, “I think we need to ban gun control laws that keep people from being able to protect themselves. The problem is not going to go away if we ban this or that gun. We’ve tried that. That doesn’t work. Doesn’t even work in England. You have mass murders there all over Europe. There have been mass murderers.”

The dialogue:

Morgan: “You’re talking complete and utter – you are talking complete and utter nonsense. ”

Pratt: “The solution is for people to be able to defend themselves at the point of the crime and not wait for 20 minutes for the police to come after everybody is dead.”

Morgan: “What you’ve just said, Mr. Pratt, was an absolute lie. The gun murder rate in countries like Britain or Germany or Australia, who’ve all suffered massacres many years ago, similar nature, have – there are 35 people killed a year. Your country has 12,000.”

Pratt: “Your murder rate has – your murder rate is lower than ours, that is true. Your violent – ”

Morgan: “Lower? It’s 75 against 12,000 in Australia. ”

Pratt: “Your violent crime rate – ”

Morgan: “They had a massacre. And they got rid of these assault weapons.”

Pratt: “Your violent crime rate is higher than ours as is the violent crime rate in Australia. America is not the Wild West that you are depicting. We only have the problem in our cities, and unhappily, in our schools where people like you have been able to get laws put on the books that keep people from being able to defend themselves.

“I honestly don’t understand why you would rather have people be victims of a crime than be able to defend themselves. It’s incomprehensible. ”

Morgan: “You’re an unbelievably stupid man, aren’t you?”

Pratt: “It seems to me that you’re morally obtuse. You seem to prefer being a victim to being able to prevail over the criminal element. And I don’t know why you want to be the criminal’s friend. ”

Morgan: “What a ridiculous argument. You have absolutely no coherent argument whatsoever. You don’t – you don’t actually give – ”

Pratt: “You have no – ”

Morgan: You don’t give a d—, do you, about the gun murder rate in America? You don’t actually care. All you care about – ”

See the exchange:

Salon editor Jacob Sugarman contributed to the tone by his report on Pratt’s interview with Chris Matthews. Sugarman compared Pratt to a snake in his article.

“The reptilian executive director of Gun Owners of America, last seen telling gun control advocates that ‘they have the blood of little children on their hands,’ argued that we are less free without automatic rifles and need to stay prepared,” Sugarman wrote, inserting the quote from Pratt.

“Does this mean that the Gun Owners of America’s 300,000 members are preparing to revolt?” Sugarman also wrote.

Citizen’s Committee for the Right to Keep and Bear Arms Communications Director Dave Workman says the current atmosphere isn’t helping the situation and that his group wants to open a real dialogue.

“We want to really study the issue of what causes violence in America. We want to examine the issue of mental health in America and take a hard look at violent video games and television shows,” Workman said.

Workman says his group’s interest is to bring the discussion back to the factors that really cause violence.

SAF President Joseph Tartaro said focusing on guns alone “to the exclusion of possible other causative factors is doomed to failure.”

UNION THUGS AND LIBERALS–PEAS IN A POD

Steven Crowder Releases Unedited Union Assault Footage

(Content Warning: Extreme Language)

This is further documentation of the violent acts committed against Conservative Writer Stephen Crowder on behalf of union members in Lansing, MI. A police report has been filed.

Several points
1. The media has been complicit in supporting the unions violating the 1st amendment, by intimidating/assaulting those practicing free speech.
2. Lansing was an overwhelmingly violent/disruptive protest. Period.
3. The mainstream media has LIED in an attempt to slander me as a fight-starter. This video removes any and all doubt, making those who accused the accuser, look very stupid and dishonest.
