MEDIA CENSOR SOROS CONNECTION TO PERRY INDICTMENT

By L. Brent Bozell, III

On January 27, 1998, then First Lady Hillary Clinton – without a shred of credible evidence – infamously claimed during an NBC Today interview with Matt Lauer that a “vast right-wing conspiracy” had been working to destroy her husband “since the day he announced for president.”

Sixteen years later we have tangible, documented proof that a vast left-wing conspiracy is in fact out to destroy conservative presidential hopeful Gov. Rick Perry, and the liberals who run the establishment media are doing everything possible to cover it up.

(Sign our Tell The Truth 2014 petition and tell the liberal media to speak up about the Soros’ connection in the Perry indictment.)

The alleged wrongdoing by Gov. Perry is a farce and the indictment a brazen political abuse, denounced by conservatives and liberals, Republicans and Democrats alike. Who is behind this outrage?

According to a Media Research Center analysis, from the moment Perry was indicted on two flimsy counts by a Travis County, Texas grand jury on August 15 through the morning of August 20, the Big Three broadcast networks – ABC, CBS, and NBC – have run 24 stories totaling 38 minutes and 34 seconds across their morning and evening broadcasts. In all that coverage, not one single story mentioned that the group responsible for filing the complaint against Perry in June, Texans for Public Justice (TPJ), is part of a “progressive” coalition that has received $500,000 in funding from prolific left-wing billionaire George Soros.

Imagine for a moment that Maryland Gov. Martin O’Malley – another presumed presidential hopeful, but a Democrat – was indicted in similarly obvious political ploy, and the group responsible for that indictment had received a half million dollars from those awful Koch brothers. Every single story on ABC, CBS, and NBC would make that connection while the liberal media machine would rain fire and brimstone across the land, claiming an all-out assault by the “extreme Right” on the sanctity of our electoral system. Forests would be slashed to the ground to print the endless string of liberal columns denouncing the evils of conservative money in politics.

(Do NOT let the liberal media get away with this one! Sign the petition and EXPOSE the Soros connection in the Perry indictment.)

I wasn’t in the least bit surprised to learn the Soros machine’s fingerprints were all over this brazen, partisan ploy. It’s what they do. It’s a clear effort to undermine and circumvent the political process and yet the media refuse to divulge his role. Not one reporter, on any program, could find the time to report this as part of the Perry story – never mind this being its own story? This is deliberate censorship.

Any mention of Soros-funded TPJ is almost as difficult to find. Of the Big Three, only ABC named the organization during Monday’s World News broadcast and made no mention of the Soros connection. Switch to cable, and TPJ remains almost entirely anonymous with the exception of the inevitable positive shout-out from MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow lauding the group for spurring the bogus two-count indictment.

CNN mentioned the group a handful of times, but never made the Soros connection. On Saturday’s New Day, correspondent Peter Hamby referred to TPJ only as “a left-leaning watchdog group.” The next morning Mary Maloney, on the same program, reported the story saying, “The corruption charges stem from a complaint filed by Texans for Public Justice, a public interest group.” Later that morning on State of the Union, an infographic stated, “”Texans for Public Justice identifies itself as a non-partisan watchdog group.” A second box a moment later clarified, “Some consider Texans for Public Justice to be a left-leaning group.” At no point was TPJ’s benefactor mentioned.

The media’s double standard in covering a story such as this misleads and misinforms the very public it claims to serve. In this case, the media have gone beyond mere bias and are complicit in the Soros machine’s scheme to take down a conservative leader.

As always thank you for your support. Please take a minute and consider signing our Tell The Truth petition urging the liberal media to reveal liberal billionaire George Soros’ role in Perry’s indictment.

by Warner Todd Huston 25 Sep 2012, 4:04 AM PDT.  Every once in a while the Old Media takes a jab at their favorite president and Obama’s decision to skip any meetings with the world leaders that are gathering at the UN this week seems to be one of those times.

Just to name a few, Chuck Todd of MSNBC, CNN’s Wolf Blitzer, ABC’s Jake Tapper, and the CBS Evening News all took swipes at the president for doing campaign stops, TV entertainment shows, and softball interviews instead of doing his job as our nation’s chief foreign policy representative by meeting with the world leaders who are this week visiting New York at the United Nations.

CBS slapped Obama saying “diplomacy gets a backseat to campaigning” on Monday in a piece by Nancy Cordes.

Noting that last year Obama conducted “13 one-on-one meetings with major leaders,” this year not so much.

But this year diplomacy is taking a back seat to campaigning, despite a worsening civil war in Syria, rising tensions between Israel and Iran, and the recent attack in Libya.

That’s pretty strong words for CBS.

CNN’s Wolf Blitzer had similar sentiments. Even as Blitzer talked out of both sides of his mouth, by turns claiming to understand why Obama would spend more time campaigning than dealing with diplomacy and then scolding him for avoiding world leaders, he had harsh words for Obama’s decision.

Saying it was a mistake to skip the meetings, Blitzer decided that, “there potentially is a missed opportunity this week for the President of the United States to meet with some world leaders…”

On MSNBC, former Democrat operative Chuck Todd said the move was “odd.”

“The White House also argues that Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and U.N. Ambassador Susan Rice will hold meetings,” Todd said after airing a clip of Fox News’s Chris Wallace pressing Obama campaign adviser Robert Gibbs about the president’s schedule. “But folks it is odd to have a president come to the United Nations and not have any bilaterals. Granted it is a campaign year, but still odd considering what’s going on in the Middle East.”

Naturally, ABC’s Jake Tapper also smacked the president for his “unusual” decision to stay on the campaign trail instead of doing his job by meeting with foreign leaders.

Tapper also noted that Obama’s move seemed to solidify claims by Obama’s critics that he has a “rocky” relationship with Israel’s Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu.

Tapper said it was an “anomaly” for the president to forego meeting with world leaders, and that “there really isn’t a full explanation that’s been forthcoming other than the president has a busy schedule.” The situation is another example of the fact that Obama and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu have, “if not a rocky relationship, not the smoothest relationship that has ever existed between an American and Israeli leader.”

On a broader note, Tapper said it is “unusual” for the president not to be meeting with these leaders — also adding: “Certainly this friction with Netanyahu is unusual and symbolic, I think, in some ways of the tension that’s existed.”

All this tsk tsking goes to show how badly Obama is doing these last few weeks since the Middle East has erupted in flames and death and his foreign policy scheme has melted down into chaos. If Obama has even lost the Old Media to this extent, he really is in trouble.
