Conservative Political Views

Media Research Center. America's Media Watchdog

Please take a moment to read this important op-ed by Media Research Center Founder and President L. Brent Bozell, III.

By L. Brent Bozell, III

On January 27, 1998, then First Lady Hillary Clinton – without a shred of credible evidence – infamously claimed during an NBC Today interview with Matt Lauer that a “vast right-wing conspiracy” had been working to destroy her husband “since the day he announced for president.”

Sixteen years later we have tangible, documented proof that a vast left-wing conspiracy is in fact out to destroy conservative presidential hopeful Gov. Rick Perry, and the liberals who run the establishment media are doing everything possible to cover it up.

(Sign our Tell The Truth 2014 petition and tell the liberal media to speak up about the Soros’ connection in the Perry indictment.)

The alleged wrongdoing by Gov. Perry is a farce and the indictment a brazen political abuse, denounced by conservatives and liberals, Republicans and Democrats alike. Who is behind this outrage?

According to a Media Research Center analysis, from the moment Perry was indicted on two flimsy counts by a Travis County, Texas grand jury on August 15 through the morning of August 20, the Big Three broadcast networks – ABC, CBS, and NBC – have run 24 stories totaling 38 minutes and 34 seconds across their morning and evening broadcasts. In all that coverage, not one single story mentioned that the group responsible for filing the complaint against Perry in June, Texans for Public Justice (TPJ), is part of a “progressive” coalition that has received $500,000 in funding from prolific left-wing billionaire George Soros.

Imagine for a moment that Maryland Gov. Martin O’Malley – another presumed presidential hopeful, but a Democrat – was indicted in similarly obvious political ploy, and the group responsible for that indictment had received a half million dollars from those awful Koch brothers. Every single story on ABC, CBS, and NBC would make that connection while the liberal media machine would rain fire and brimstone across the land, claiming an all-out assault by the “extreme Right” on the sanctity of our electoral system. Forests would be slashed to the ground to print the endless string of liberal columns denouncing the evils of conservative money in politics.

(Do NOT let the liberal media get away with this one! Sign the petition and EXPOSE the Soros connection in the Perry indictment.)

I wasn’t in the least bit surprised to learn the Soros machine’s fingerprints were all over this brazen, partisan ploy. It’s what they do. It’s a clear effort to undermine and circumvent the political process and yet the media refuse to divulge his role. Not one reporter, on any program, could find the time to report this as part of the Perry story – never mind this being its own story? This is deliberate censorship.

Any mention of Soros-funded TPJ is almost as difficult to find. Of the Big Three, only ABC named the organization during Monday’s World News broadcast and made no mention of the Soros connection. Switch to cable, and TPJ remains almost entirely anonymous with the exception of the inevitable positive shout-out from MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow lauding the group for spurring the bogus two-count indictment.

CNN mentioned the group a handful of times, but never made the Soros connection. On Saturday’s New Day, correspondent Peter Hamby referred to TPJ only as “a left-leaning watchdog group.” The next morning Mary Maloney, on the same program, reported the story saying, “The corruption charges stem from a complaint filed by Texans for Public Justice, a public interest group.” Later that morning on State of the Union, an infographic stated, “”Texans for Public Justice identifies itself as a non-partisan watchdog group.” A second box a moment later clarified, “Some consider Texans for Public Justice to be a left-leaning group.” At no point was TPJ’s benefactor mentioned.

The media’s double standard in covering a story such as this misleads and misinforms the very public it claims to serve. In this case, the media have gone beyond mere bias and are complicit in the Soros machine’s scheme to take down a conservative leader.

As always thank you for your support. Please take a minute and consider signing our Tell The Truth petition urging the liberal media to reveal liberal billionaire George Soros’ role in Perry’s indictment.

THE BLAZE by JASON HOWERTON (MY TWO SENSE: I must say that most of the women in these photos don’t look as though they’ve ever wanted to have sex with a man, so, what are they yelling about? As for the rest, and after the hails for satan, I can’t imagine anyone thinking abortion is acceptable. First of all, it’s nothing to do with reproductive health. Secondly, it’s nothing to do with anybody’s health except for the innocent baby. Thirdly, it’s all about being free enough to whore around without self-respect and an iota of consciousness to practice safe sex or abstain all together. There is no conscience involved in abortion. No medical necessity is involved in 99% of pregnancies. When a woman is willing to kill her own baby without a thought to giving it life through adoption, that woman is one of the most selfish human beings on this earth. It is unconscionable and inconceivable what those women are willing to put another life through to make their own more convenient. And convenience is the truth of what abortion is really all about! JM)

Watch: Abortion Supporters Chant ‘Hail Satan!’ While Pro-Life Activists Sing ‘Amazing Grace’ Outside Texas Capitol

The abortion battle in Texas was still raging Tuesday as both abortion supporters and pro-life activists flooded the State Capitol to make their voices heard. The Texas House and Senate reconvened briefly for a special session called by Gov. Rick Perry.

One of the more bizarre tactics used by pro-abortion activists involved chanting “Hail Satan!” to harass a pro-life crowd as they sang “Amazing Grace.”

Texas blogger Adam Cahm was able to capture the “Hail Satan” chant on video. Watch it here:

Other videos:

“It’s been a very interesting day at the Texas State Capitol. Cahnman’s Musings hasn’t been following the hearing. Instead, we’ve been participating in the surrounding events,” he writes. “LetTexasSpeak has been doing a live broadcast from the rotunda where women have been sharing their abortion related testimonies.  The pro-abortion crowd has responded with repeated chants of ‘hail Satan.’  It’s taken us all day to get a video recording…”

Obviously, it is much more likely that the abortion supporters were chanting “Hail Satan!” to mock pro-lifers rather than actually hailing Lucifer, but anything is possible.

And there was plenty of discussion about “Hail Satan” on Twitter. Twitchy has the details.

The pro-abortion crowd also brought some really interesting signs to the rally (Some are offensive):

A recess was called for the Texas Legislature until July 9.

The proposed bill would ban abortions after 20 weeks of pregnancy, require that the procedure be performed at ambulatory surgical centers, mandate that doctors who perform abortions obtain admitting privileges at a hospital within 30 miles and that even nonsurgical abortions take place in a surgical center.

Only five out of 42 clinics in Texas qualify as ambulatory surgical centers and they are in major metropolitan areas. Many clinics would need to relocate to meet ventilation requirements and to have the space required for operating rooms and hallways.

Similar measures have passed in other states, but many are tied up in court. Mississippi’s only abortion clinic remains open pending a federal lawsuit over the requirement for doctors to have admitting privileges.

Angry—a racist term?  What kind of word was it before it became a racist term?  Chicago—another racist word?  What was the windy city before it was Chicago?  Constitution—deep-seated bigotry?  Juan Williams, really?  Experienced—“racial code word?”   Everybody knows that the Black experience is different from the White experience, therefore, “experienced” is indeed code for racism.  Food Stamp President—racist implications?  What else do you call a President who encourages welfare by lowering eligibility requirements so that now, one in seven people are on Food Stamps?  The kink in the armor is that the majority of people on food stamps are White.  Golf—“Obama=Tiger Woods=Racism, huh?  Holding down the fort—anti-Native American?  The term “Native American” is anti-Native American!  Kitchen Cabinet—“To talk about being in the kitchen and not talk about an African-American actually being in your cabinet is really not a good metaphor to use with African-Americans,” from the mouth of Mark Thompson, radio talk-show host.  Obamacare—race-baiting?  Daily Beast columnist Michael Tomasky labeled Romney,  “spineless, disingenuous, supercilious, race-mongering pyromaniac” because it’s a “heavily loaded word”???  Obama likes the word, so where do we go from here?  Privileged—racial bigotry?  Speaking of Obama’s background as “privileged” insinuates that “he took the place of someone else through affirmative action, that someone else being someone white,” so says Washington Post writer Jonathan Capehart after Texas GOP Governor Rick Perry said Obama was “privileged.  Really?  Professor—professor=uppity=uppity nigger?  So says Professor Charles Ogletree—wait—I’m confused—is this Ogletree guy a real professor or an uppity nigger?  You people—racist AND elitist?  Ann Romney gave this answer to a herd of reporters, “We’ve given all you people need to know and understand about our financial situation and about how, you know, how we live our life.”  Chair—come on now!?  Some content from previous post.  Include monkeying, black cloud, and mimic because to mimic means to ape another.  Hence, mimic=ape=ape-like=Obama

It never fails—tell an angry individual, that may or may not live in Chicago, that in order to uphold the Constitution, he/she must get experienced, under the food stamp President—and there will be no golf—just hold down the fort, and close that kitchen cabinet before something falls out on your head and you need Obamacare, which is only for the privileged professor and you people know that, so have a chair, and sit down!

To what extent will the Progressive Liberals (PLs) go to keep racism standing and fighting?  At what point do they become embarrassed for themselves?  The hand has been tipped–we clearly see that pushing the racism push thing was to garner sympathy and support for Obama.  Now, just look at the PLs.  They are left without a cause for hate.  It’s time to stop!
